Sammys (428), Portland, Maine, USA Mar 9, 2004 Updated: Mar 17, 2004 This is, IMHO opinion, a far superior product than Guinness' regular draught and canned offering. It has everything I find pleasant about the other GS, i.e. nice dry, somewhat in-your-face roasted malt aroma and flavor, without the unpleasant sourness they add to the regular stout on purpose. I don't even buy the other one anymore, but this version can occasionally be found in my fridge.
BeerBunker (105), Burbank, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2008 Pours dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is of malts and some coffee. Taste is far more bitter than the draught version. The bitterness in each sip is followed by the taste of lightly roasted malts and bread. Not very drinkable and somewhat dissapointing. Paul150 (21), , Georgia, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is very malty and nutty. Taste is of roasted malts and coffee up front with slight bitterness towards the back. The carbonation is alright, but nowhere near the mouthfeel of regular Guinness on a nitrogen tab. Still a good and decently drinkable beer. mattwix (6), Arizona, USA does not count Oct 5, 2008 Updated: Oct 7, 2008I’ve enjoyed this beer many, many times! It’s the best of all "Guinness" products available in N. America, regardless of whether it’s brewed in Dublin or eh? Canada? alexsdad06 (666), Ohio, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottled. Pours a very dark brown color with a large thick tan head. Lighter aroma of roasted malt and dark chocolate. The flavor is lighter biscuity malt, some roast, dark chocolate. This is lighter in body and has a dry slightly bitter finish. fidel (210), Livermore, California, USA Sep 29, 2008 Dark brown, roasted malts, little coffee, little hoppy, slight sour, dry finish.
