COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Labattís brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editorís Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

Solid dry Irish stout. Not a huge fan of the style, but this is good. This is better than the draught, but the Extra Import blows this away. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It's definitely a Guinness beer. I wish it had a widget in the bottle but does not. Still though, a decent dark beer for not a lot of money. I'd buy it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml can poured at home. Honestly donít remember where I got it. Itís been in my beer fridge forever. Not my first, nor last time Iíve had a guinness. Pours tan in color and settles to a dark black. Thick creamy head that stays forever. Malty, molasses flavour, that is actually kind of watery (compared to what one would expect by looking at it). It has earned its reputation for a reason.

This beer is a classic. I had the North American one. Heard the original is different and has a better taste. Nice bourbon sweetness taste makes it worthwhile.

12oz bottle in snifter. Dark brown w/ tall foamy head. Aroma of German pumpernickel bread and rye. Not as dry and more bitter than I seem to remember this. Tastes nice and chocolate-y, and is quite quaffable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Look: pours a dark black. Light brown head. Smell: apples. Toasted malt. Sweet malt. Taste: malt. Apples. Smoked malt. Feel: slightly thin mouth feel for a stout. Very dry. Overall: ok beer. Not a lot of flavors jumping out at me. This bottle could be slightly old. First drank: home 12/2/14

Bottle to a pint glass. The beer pours a dark ruby brown with a thick tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is roasted barley, dark chocolate, and grassy hops. Taste is very roasty up front. Flavors of coffee and baking chocolate come in as well as a kind of earthy floral flavor in the background. Mouthfeel is pretty thin and itís easy to drink. Not a bad session stoug.

A touch of coffee, alcohol, and prunes on the nose. Nice dark pour and a big fluffy brown head. A balanced body. Notes of toasty malt, deep fruit, bright carbonation, a little alcohol. It's really a pretty good beer for how widely produced it is. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle. It pours a dark brown color with a disappearing light tan head. Looks darker than the Draught. The aroma has some toast, cocoa and some dark fruitiness that I donít remember getting from the Draught. The flavor is fuller and also more flavorful with bread, roasted malt, a little smoke and tobacco with a decent amount of earthy hop bitterness and cigarette ash in the finish. Hints of acidity and figgy dark fruit. Pretty good stuff actually.

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts. Flavor is a touch of sweet caramel and a little bit of roast. A bit on the light side. Body is a tad light as well. Just okay.
