2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2016 Bottle at Gold Coast, Woodside. It pours jet black with a gigantic tan head. The aroma is sweet, lots of dark fruit, sweet summer berry, jammy, earthy, ashy roast, cooking chocolate and salted liquorice. The taste is bitter, tangy, roasted malts, quite spicy, Jamaican gingerbread, cherry cola, earthy roast, umami, soy sauce, marmite, earthy wood and berry skin with a dry, earthy, ashy finish. Medium body and high carbonation. A bit messy. One of the poorer versions of FES.

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks tomer. Black with a tan head. Sourish aroma, melt chocolate. Bitter, roasty and a little buttery taste. Full body, a little metallic, unpleasing finish.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at keremk’s place. Thanks tomer. Deep brown with small brownish head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate, some sugar and cardboard. Sourish flavor with some roastiness, lots of herbs and vegetables, unpleasant notes of cardboard. Lively carbonation, light to medium-bodied. Not fresh.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle [from Euro Swap 2015-2 thanks to Tomer] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque very dark brown to black color, full sized light brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is weird: malts, a hint of figs, hint of red fruit and leaves. Taste malts, dark fruits, raisins, leaves. Weird mix and unfortunately not very nice imo. Nice country tick though :).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ benzai. Black colour with a large light brown head. Smells coffee, fruity, sweet, kinda icecream like but i cant say which kind of icecream. Tastes cardboard, coffee, roasty. I like cardboard so it’s not a huge problem for me, but this beer has more cardboard then anything I ever tasted. I guess this beer has seen some shit in it’s days. And probably even more sunlight than shit, if I must believe the cardboard. Anyway, I’m glad the beer found some peace now. Medium body, nice carbo.

This beer definitely needs to be drank very cold. Tons of molasses, light bodied, sugary, not so balanced. Sweet. Lacks roastiness, not very good compares to other FES.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle at RBJG#2 - Grand Tasting Tim’s Place. Black - offwhite head. Burned, fatness, sourness, some milk, youghurt, dry notes, red berries, puke----- awful.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
My Bottom Line:
Cane sugar, cane sugar, and more cane sugar. Then molasses, acidic fruitiness and rough cereals. A frighteningly different concoction…
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy brown.
-Carbonation is relatively soft, which leaves more room for the… um… weirdness.
-Roasted malts are shy in the flavor profile.
-The fruitiness and cane sugar are overdone.

whad the f@#$? Nose is actually interesting - very sweet, like chico babies candy. In the mouth its a horrible lager with hints of roast, rotting flesh and one of the four horsemen of the apocolypse. This is not Guinness.
