Pours a very dark brown with deep red hues and an average size light-brown head. Aroma’s roasty along with chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, grain and some lactic notes. Odd, somewhat boozy flavour is roasty with some chocolate and something else that I can’t place -- the sorghum perhaps? Whatever it is it doesn’t quite work for me. Weird aftertaste that I didn’t care for as well. Average bodied. I didn’t like it, it’s well made but it’s just not my thing. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Smells a bit lactic, molasses, almost flaky oak/roast.
Tastes strange, kind of oily dust, thick,
warm alcohol kind of rummish flavour. It’s kind of strange, almost oxidized papery notes but perhaps that’s the inherent grain flavour. Radek Kliber (3943), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Bottle shared by Mabel. Black bodied with a moderate foamy tan head. (3+) Sweet malty aroma, light not quite fruity undertones. (7+) g flavour, tangy dark malt with a very slight acidity to it. Average palate is thin for a stout. Decent, but more exciting for the rarity/interestingness than the beer itself. OStreetBrewery (100), Wellington, New Zealand
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Pours a pitch black with a lovly natural tan head. Aroma features a massive creamy caramel milkshake character, confected and unique. On the palate there is a woody note, warm alcohol then bitter sweet caramel thats rich but is cut by a sharp dry finish that prevents it from being cloying, like spicy xmas pudding with brandy sauce. World class. HogTownHarry (4002), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Bottle (330ml). Via a small off-license near Finchley Central station. Nice thick, black pour, average lasting tan/light brown mottled head. Super-dark roast malt aroma, hint of prune and herbal hops, chocolate and a lovely grain profile; thick and sweet. The taste was lighter than expected, dry, deep roast, with molasses, tart fruit, an undertone of what I assume is the sorghum, oily and grainy. Thick, mildly acid mouthfeel, nicely carbonated and alcoholic, bitter fruity aftertaste. Way, way better than G on draft - solid stout. jbrus (4863), Delft, Netherlands

Sweet, very special flavors that I never tasted before, glue in the finish but not annoying. Quite alcoholic. Totally different from any Guinness I had before. goozen (1088), Leiden, Netherlands
