Bottle. Medium off white head. Pretty good retention. Black body. Plums, red fruit, corn, aniseed, dust, boiled vegetables, bubblegum, resin. Bittersweet with some lactic sourness. Soft mouthfeel. Full bodied. Dry finish.

Pours black with a large dark tan head. Aroma of cola syrup, very sweet smelling. Some dark chocolate liqueur and softer roasted malt. Pretty wierd. The sweetness carries through as a flavour, presumably that’s the sorghum. Some bitter roast a bit later but the sweetness is overpowering. A fair bit of booze in the finish. Could use more carbonation.

33cl Bottle from an Indian toko. Made with wheat according to the label, no word of sorghum. Black, beige head. Aroma of coffee and cream, Madeira wine, oxidisation, juniper, burnt liquorice, ash, tobacco. Flavour of Madeira wine, ash, something sour, berries, burnt liquorice, ashy bitter finish with a fruity sour touch. Medium-bodied. Not bad, just a bit weird.

Black with a tan head. Aroma of molasses, singed grain, stewed fruit, red wine, Milo. Silky texture, really nice. Sweet with lots of chocolatey dark sugars and vanilla. A faintly spicy and sour milky graininess that I guess is the sorghum. Coffee astringency. Bitter, somewhat acrid finish. Started about 10C which was far too cold, seems less astringent as it warms. Interesting.

Bottle @ Dean to Mouth tasting, courtesy of jmgreenuk. Another Guinness, another chance. I always liked Guinness, so let’s see about this one. Pours a black beer with a thin off white head on top. Aroma is light sour, herbal and malty. Flavor is rather full, creamy mouthfeel and very nice bittersweet flavors coming out. Touch of vanilla in the background. Very nice actually.

worldbeertaste (1599) - AUSTRIA - FEB 21, 2014
Black with a tan medium lacy lasting frothy head. Smells of nut, slightly stale malt, roast and dark malt. Some malt extract. Tastes of alcohol harshness with dark malt. Did they mix Guinness extract with a pale lager. This is not nice at all. The finish is harsh and bitter.
