Sampled from a bottle. Black colour with a firm tan head. Charred aroma. The taste is strongly of charred wood, with lots of coffee and liquorice along with the smoky flavours. Very dry and bitter finish. Slightly strange notes of cabbage in the taste - is that the sorghum? A good strongly-flavoured version and high ABV version of the classic Guinness.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a nice fawn head. Nose - charcoal, smoke generally, savoury, umami and soy sauce Taste - liquid fossil fuels running into soy sauce again. Palate - medium bodied with a dry but thin texture and a dry smoky finish. Overall - a bit odd but very complex.

Deep roasty aroma. Tan head which doesn't last too well. Dry roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, ash, hops, a little chocolate in the finish. So much more character than the regular version. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
