Roasted sweet initially then follows some resinous citrus hop tones, and in the finish turns dry and roasted with some hop leaves in your tongue. Medium bodied, smooth, but lively carbonation. More exciting than the Irish versions that i sampled so far. armando629 (985), Budapest, Hungary

Nice roasted aroma, drak chocolate, coffee perfume. Medium bodied, fine roasted tastes, liqueric coffee, fine dark chocolate, caramel and some sweet malt. Nice, drinkable and strong one. Fine&long coffee aftertaste. altonbrownd (1907), Amsterdam, Netherlands

A pleasant surprise. A really enjoyable and well-balance Guinness that tastes almost better than the Irish version. It’s quite sweet with nice chocolate and toffee flavours. Less bitter than usual.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Scruffy bottle from local asian off licence.. Black with a beige foam. Aromas are roast malts with lots of raisin fruitiness. Also has some light woody, smoky notes. Flavours are bitter coffee followed by sweet creaminess and dark fruit. The Sorghum gives it some gluten free beer character but its far better than the majority of those.

I’ve had the Irish, American, and Belgian versions of this. In my opinion, the Nigerian version is the best. I have a sweet tooth so I know everyone’s opinion will be different. Nevertheless, this is a version I HIGHLY recommend to everyone. This version is sweeter than the others yet still has that great Guinness taste that we all love. azlondon (662), Fribourg, Switzerland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2008 Appearance: Very dark brown, basically black. OK amount of tan head, short-lived.
Aroma: Dark malt, sweet. Prunes, dark fruit.
Taste: Dark malt, burnt. Quite sweet, too sweet? Some coffee.
Info: 325ml bottle, 26/12-2008
Compared to Irish version:
Appearance: This version has darker and less head, and the head doesn’t last as long.
Aroma: This version is sweeter, almost artificial. More malt?
Taste: This version is more fruity and sweeter. The Irish version is more bitter. Cletus (5055), Connecticut, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2008 Pours dark brown with a creamy white head. Smells of sorghum, some sweet chocolatey hints, some molasses, dark fruit. Tastes of sweet corn, some roasty hints, spicy. Interesting and much more enjoyable than the garbage they ship to the US.
