Bottle. Roasted malt aroma. Black beer with a large beige head. The taste is dark roasted malts and hops. The hops are quite bitter and resinous. A nice addition to the Guinness extract. It is medium bodied and smooth. A very good Foreign stout.

Bottle. Pours almost black with some red in it and a big light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt. Taste is of roasted malts, coffee, hops and licorice. Quite bitter - in taste and finish. Above average body and below average carbonation. It absolutely has that special Guinness taste but it’s not quite as good as the Special Export (Belgian version).

325ml bottle. Pours black with a medium-sized light brown head, which unfortunately collapses after not too long. Aroma is interesting, like Guinness Draught you have the smell of roasted malts and some dark chocolate, but there’s also a warm fruitiness to it, almost like a liqueur. Taste is predominantly roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate too. Quite a bitter finish, more so than the Draught, which I prefer to this.

Pours black opaque colour, with creamy, stable brown head. Aroma with mild alcoholic note, with hints of roasted, coffee, sorgho (wheat) and cherry wine. Flavor: similar like aroma; alcohol is mild medium noticable, like cherry wine or cherry liqouer, with hints of roasted, coffee and sorgho. Malt sweetness is medium, hop bitterness is medium high, body is smooth soft, finish is sticky, long lasting bitter dry. Carbonation is soft.

Bottle from Voldby. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma and taste is dark malts, coffee, licorice notes, chocolate, but also a strange flavor. Exciting. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. Excellent

Pours a dark brown color, almost black, topped with a decent tan colored head. Aroma of roasted malt asome notes of coffee. Taste starts sweet and malty, roasty presence and some coffee as well. A little soy sauce in there. Not bad, but I prefer the original one.

Bottle at Guinn’s house thanks to Casey - a bottle he had saved since 2005, I believe. Pours dark black with a thin mocha head. Aroma is iron, malty, chocolate, burnt malts. Very interesting. Very different from other versions I’ve had. Really interesting. Thankful to have tried this. Good beer.

Bottle after bottle at Kenny’s Island. Pours Black with a tan head. Aroma of burnt sugar, roasted malt and cake dough. It’s full flavoured perhaps a little on the sweet side but bursting with character. Chocolate, raisins, stewed prunes and boooze. Nice powdery bitterness on the end. Delicious.

Big and Black with a beautiful, thick, strong choccoccino head. Big molassesy aroma with some liquorice and a subtle sort of ice-creaminess (probably marmite flavoured ice cream!). The flavour is heavily malty, of course as the Nigerians love their non-alcoholic malt drinks which are ’strong’ in a sense anyway, this Guinness is for the bad men, strong in so many ways! The malt is overpowering with liqorice and creamy tobacco flavours but there’s a noticeable hop backbone too but which has been completely overpowered by the malt, which is cool, because this is more of a tasty alcoholic malt drink than it is just a beer and it really does encapsulate (but also corrupts) something very prominent about Nigerian culture.
