Commercial Description:
Higher in alcohol content than other Guinness products, this stout has a strong, oaky, complex flavor.

Editor’s Note: This is the standard FES. Sometimes it is imported from Ireland but more often it is brewed locally. This version is most common in the Caribbean and Africa. All versions from those places, save for Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana should be rated here.

Haha. American Guinness sucks. This pour was thick dark black with a full tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt and chocolate. Full body with strong flavors of roasted malt, cocoa, slight coffee, and a slight bitter finish. Very good. Would buy again.

Dublin brewery.Yes, this is much better than the draught style, much more character. I poured this one a little on the cold side, so I am having a hard time with the aroma- after swirling a bit I am getting some creosote, faint hop background, malt wort. Taste is bitter and dry, strong roasty presence, a bit like old coffee grounds. Finishes out with some astringency. Pretty good for such a commercial beer, just crosses over into the territory of beers I will drink with regularity. *addendum- after closely inspecting the bottle, I found that this was actually brewed in Canada, in spite of the Dublin , Ireland claim in larger print.

Bottle shared with Josh: Pours a silky black with thin white head. Aromas of sweet chocolate, cream, and oak. Taste is of strong chocolate, cream and that classic "Guinness" flavor. Finish is dy with that same "Guinness" flavor. Thanks Josh.

Blackish color with a hint of amber topped with a thick tan head and quite a bit of lacing. Roasted malty aroma. The flavor is that of burned chocolate and malts with a rich, bitter mouthfeel. It’s OK but I prefer the standard Guinness

Bottle. Best before ’05. Pours a black color with a tan head. Roasted malty and a slightly fruity aroma. Smooth roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a malty roasted finish with some fruity hints in the aftertaste.
