I had the Irish brewed version on the ship and it tasted the same. Aroma is roasty, with an acidic sour tang. Taste is sweet, roasty, tangy. Reminiscent of regular Guinness with more sweetness, more body, and a nice tang. Wonderful. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Bottle aboard Celebrity Galaxy cruisliner originating in Civitavecchia, Italy. Sweet, malty stouty aroma. Very nice. Sweeter and richer in the nose than regular Guinness. Dark, large, rootbeer float-like head. Quite different than the cascading, tight bubble appearance of regular Guinness. Excellent lace. Molasses and higher alcohol. Definitely sweeter than regular Guinness. Pretty good. A little dry, but the best beer on board the ship. larsga (2959), Oslo, Norway
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Big brown coarseish lasting head. Black body goes dark brown at edges. Burnt licorice aroma, quite faint. Deep dry burnt licorice and coffee taste with a sweetish background and chocolatey, peppery notes. Traces of pine needles. Quite sharp. Some alcohol heat. Mid-bodied. Long, dry, burnt minty aftertaste. Easily the best of the Guinnesses. (0.33l bottle, SuperValu, Dublin.) patricks110 (279), Alberta, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Bottle. Very rich flavour of chocolate and roasted malt with almost a burnt quality to it. It was almost too much for me but by the end I really enjoyed the smooth richness of it. albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2008 This was fizzier than I like my beer to be, but it’s very tasty. It has a rich, deep, spicy, oaky taste. Not as good as Thornbridge St. Petersburg or Brewdog Riptide, but very enjoyable in its own right nevertheless. rustychiles (1023), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Pours black with a foamy brown head. Aroma of burnt barley, chocolate and malt. Flavors of roasted barley, malt, coffee and soured guinness come out in this one. More depth than regular guinness, but not as nice as the foreign extra.
