IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Jun 26, 2007 Bottle from Enniskillen fresh from Cork, Ireland yesterday! Nose of yeast, molasses, caramel, and a hint of butteriness; Very dark brown with a medium beige head; flavor of hop bitterness, coffee, chocolate, with a buttery note. Enniskillen rated it a tenth higher, probably because he consumed his in Ireland, not California! Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Jun 26, 2007 (many thanks to enniskillen for bringing this back from ireland.)dark brown with a creamy head that left nice webbing.aroma is a blend of molasses, smores, and roasted malts.flavor is root beer, roasted and and a hint of milk chocolate. pantani (1895), Salinas, California, USA Jun 26, 2007 Bottle purchased in Cork City, IRE. Dark ruby body, with a tan head. Aroma is awesome, very roasty, chocolate, cappacino, caramel. Taste is coffee, espresso, decent background hoppiness. 0o9i (326), Reno, Nevada, USA Jun 24, 2007 Bottled. Black body with slight ruby color around the edges. Light brown head, fully lasting, prodigious amounts of lace. Aroma of dark fruits, molasses, roasted malts. It smells rich and luxurious. Body is fullish with light carbonation, lightly dry finish. Flavor is malty, but not sweet. Molasses, dark fruits, toasted or burned malts, some caramel. Hops are roasted coffee and bakers chocolate. Moderate, bitter finish. I was shocked that I was drinking a Guinness; the stuff is very good. It lacks the creamy body that defines Guinness, but it has flavor, personality, and a little bit of oomph! Smooth and enjoyable, a serious upgrade from the US Guinnesses. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 14, 2007 27.5 cL bottle. Pours black as it should, creamy white head, as it should. But rather quickly disappearing. Aroma is only vague malty but sticky sweet. The do produce cane sugar on the island, I assume a lot of that has gone into this brew. Slight earthy aroma as well. Not the most pleasant aroma imho. Flavour is honestly just bad: sticky sweet and sour bitter at once with a sticky bitter finish. This is FAR from the normal Guinness, but it seems to be popular on the island - it’s available everywhere. I guess the Barbadians find this a good match to the sweet cajun food. norsedoc (162), USA Jun 11, 2007 Bottle at the Turks & Caicos airport. Very sweet and syrupy. Dark, bitter. Good malt/hop balance. It’s like the Extra Stout available in the USA, only on steroids. Stopherbomber (111), London, England May 29, 2007 a bubbly, not creamy head, with a good bitter aftertaste, and a kick at 7.5% alcohol. good for the hangover. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA May 20, 2007 Rated 5/6/07: What an enjoyable stout, I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. Poured a thick black with a decent head and ample amounts of thick sticky lacing. The aroma was bitter and filled with nice roasted malts. Thick mouthfeel that is full and satisfying. The flavor is chock full of dark roasted malts and a strong bitter quality, slightly nutty with decent traces of coffee and chocolate. A wonderful find for an unseasonably chilly spring night.
