Jan 18, 2006 "Poured a black coffee like color with a medium light tan head. Aroma was a tad smokey. Flavor was the same with a semi sweet taste at the end. This was very different Guinness not as good but okay. "

Jan 7, 2006 Updated: May 30, 200633cl bottle from Sainsbury. Black in colour with thin beige head. Attractive roasted malt aroma with choc/coffee and roasted raisins. Grainy dark, bitter choc. Bit of heat from the alcohol. Bit of sourness and liquorice. Nice finish has dry burnt flavours. Overall a pretty good strong stout

Dec 30, 2005 Pours a deep dark brown color. Aromas of chocolate, espresso, and a scattering of hops. Flavor is bold bitter roast malts with a smooth chocolate like finish.

Dec 23, 2005 Poured a nearly opaque black/brown. Thin beige head that hung around. Very roasty aroma...lotsa maltiness, mostly burnt and bitter. Flavor is no different with even more "burnt offerings" like coffee and chocolate. The abv is slightly noticeable, but not by a bunch. Better than the draught....but again, not by much.

Dec 20, 2005 I’ll prefer the draught version to this, a bit to "thick" both as the flow of the beer and the flavor. Not as much of a "meal" beer as I find the draught to be. A bit more malty than I care for as well.

Dec 19, 2005 Found this in Russia, canned, in a 6.5% version. Not sure if this is the right FES to rate it as, and I forgot to check where the can was from, but I’ll put it here for now.
Pours an opque black, with a foamy, medium sized brown head.
Aroma of roasted, almost burned malts, burned sugar, and bitter dark chocolate.
Rather sharp and somewhat sour flavor of heavily roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, strong coffee, and hops, with a tangy, bitter alcoholic finsih.
Fairly smooth palate, but nowhere as creamy as the standard draught guinness.
A good guinness, but a bit too sharp for my taste. Goes well with dark chocolate though.

Dec 7, 2005 Guinness is a very good stout, though not better than Murphy’s. It has a very strong chocolate, ashes and coffee aroma.
Drink it along a piece of meat with a strong sauce, or maybe a salted cold fish like herring.
