Commercial Description:
Higher in alcohol content than other Guinness products, this stout has a strong, oaky, complex flavor.

Editor’s Note: This is the standard FES. Sometimes it is imported from Ireland but more often it is brewed locally. This version is most common in the Caribbean and Africa. All versions from those places, save for Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana should be rated here.

Contrary to jimmack04, I feel carbonation is much less assertive. Definitely has tan head. Bitter aftertase, makes you want to come back for more.

Black with a small tan head. Dark roasted malt aroma. Flavor is quite different than the draught style. First of all the carbonation is much more assertive. You can also taste the difference in the alcohol content. The roasted malt flavor was also much more intense.

Strong buttered popcorn aroma followed by some alchohol. Wine like mouthfeel with a very dry finish.

Butter and dark fruits (plums and red grapes mostly). Deep black with an off-white head. Moderately sweet, lightly acidic flavor becoms a lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter finish. Medium-full body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: a strange fruitiness and slightly thinner than I expected, but still good.

A black appearance with a moderate beige head. The aroma is filled with tobacco and smoke. The flavor is very smokey with a bittersweet taste. There is a kiwi fruit and sour berry backbone. This was very different from your other standard Guinness stouts. Not the greatest but still enjoyable.

Massive off whitish head. Nutty, fruity, and tangy with smoky notes and the traditional guinness bitterness coming through. Sof on the togue. Very enjoyable.

Bottled. Fantastic aroma; sharp fresh dough, really fruitcake-like. Jet black body with a veneer of coffee coloured froth for a head. Big malt and roasty flavours in this, but the slightly sour aftertaste is a bit of a suckerpunch.

Deep black color, short brown head. Aroma of black and roasted malts, coffee with cream, chocolate, hint of alcohol, some artificial strawberry milky something. Taste is sweet, roasted malts, some sour creamy tone. Sweet sour aftertaste and slightly bitter with a sticky palate.
