GMUcrew7 (353), Mason, Ohio, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle in St Thomas. Pours jet black with a full tan head. Wonderful oak/vanilla aromas with some roasted coffee. Delicious complex flavor headlined by the powerful oak and vanilla, also has a bit of coffee to round out the roasted sweet flavor. Has a medium body, and a burnt woody finish. Wonderful beer, superior to the version found back home. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Poured a dark brown color with a small/medium beige head. The aroma showed hints of dark fruits, roasted malt, and a light burnt note. Overall, a little light for a stout. The flavor is much of the same and also a little light for a stout. Dark fruit, slight roast, and light bitterness in the finish. There was also a sour note. Could this have been a little old? Anyway, I’m glad I got to try this one once. It is sweet, with cream, chocolate, and a bit of fruit; balanced by bitter burnt barley, coffee, soy sauce too. Good and reliable.
