3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beersiveknown (1659) - NORTHERN IRELAND - JUN 16, 2013
Bottle at Guinness storehouse, Dublin
Had this a number of times pre rating
Thick, dark ruby brown with fluffy tan head. Fairly sweet, full bodied, roast barley, burnt toast, umami richness, hops and chocolate in nose, smooth, low carbonation. Slips down far too easily. If only all Guinness was like this.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 danlo (392) - Durham, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2013
330ml bottle. Pours a black colour, with frothy foam beige head leaving some lacing and aroma of roasted malt & honey. Taste is sweet molasses, chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits with a lingering bitterness. Initial milky mouth feel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry roasted bitter finish. Quite OK.
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 mtwhitney (135) - Maui, Hawaii, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Cannot get this; where I live we get Canadian Guinness. Having it in England and it is brewed in Ireland. Wonderful. One of the best stouts ever. The aroma in the glass the next morning is like waking up to an Elizabethan garden. I kid not. Amazing next morning aroma.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pizd (78) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2013
(Bottle): Pours deep black with a tan head. A sweet, chocolate and coffee aroma. A great balance of bitter and sweet in the taste, almost like a chocolate coated coffee bean. Has a malty, bready, licquorice finish and a long lasting bitterness on the tongue. Prefer this to the draught guinness.

Not particularly different from the special export at least that I can tell from memory. Sweeter than I remember, though the sweetness is more molasses than chocolate.
