Foreign Extra Stout is a beer like no other. The most full-flavoured of all. Singular and striking. Uniquely satisfying. Brewed with extra hops and roasted barley for a natural bite. Bitter and sweet. Refreshingly crisp. Always rewarding. Pure beauty. Pure GUINNESS.

Editor’s Note: This is the standard FES. Sometimes it is imported from Ireland but more often it is brewed locally. This version is most common in the Caribbean and Africa. All versions from those places, save for Jamaica, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana should be rated here.

Bottle. Dark coffee brown color with foamy brown head. Thick nose of malt and estery hop, both burnt sugar and coffee dominate. Heavy palate of brown sugar, roasted coffee, and caramel. Thick in malts. Did not pick the hops up as much. Bitter malt finish. Both crisp and bitter. Very nice.

Black with a thin vanishing head, lacings. Malty, caramel, cane molasses, light roasted. Average to very sweet, with a bitter lingering finish. Light carbonation , full bodied. A sweet and different but still enjoying stout.

275 ml bottle. Brewed in Saint Lucia. Opaque black liquid topped by a small tan head with clinging lace. Roasted malt nose with caramel notes. Bittersweet roasted malt upfront. Chewy, tannic, chocolatey, herbal hop notes. Much more assertive and complex than regular Guinness. Very tasty and enjoyable.

0.33l pullo irlannista. Muhkea kahvimainen pehmeä vaahto, mustanruskea väri. Kevyttä paahteisuutta tuoksussa, tulee jopa porterit mieleen. Savuinen, kalaisa, pehmeän samettinen, liukas. Paahteisuus jälkimakuna. Hyvää kamaa, joskaan ei kovin moniulotteinen.

Very nice dark appearance. Bigger hints of coffee and roasted barley than draught Guinness
