3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasty,
Appearance: Deep opaque black. Towering tan foamy head.
Taste: light sweetness, medium bitterness, salty,
Palate: medium body, creamy, sticky, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
Overall: This was pretty nice. Sort of like a tamed down russian imperial. Lots of roasted malts, coffee, raisin, plum. Much more going on than traditional guinness stout. Poured from bottle.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20

0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Comes in the well known dark bottle, Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is a beer with its own unique taste. Can I find the classic Guinness taste in this Foreign Extra version?
Pours the expected pitch black colour with a tan whitish head that didn’t last too long, with little lacing.
A very strong aroma of dark cocoa, coffee and roasted malts. The smell is quite strong on the nose.
The taste was powerful. Now I know why in Africa they use the slogan "Guinness gives you power!" It was a very strong tasting stout, with a long bitter aftertaste, that had a bite to it. Overall a good strong stout, tasting of roasted malt with traces of coffee. As you would expect with a Guinness stout the flavours are complex and well balanced, making it one of the worlds richest tasting beers. Still not as good as a pint of the real black stuff beside the Liffey, Dublin town.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 330 ml bottle.
Opaque, pitch black with a huge pale tan head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla.
Taste of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and slightly bitter dark fruit.
Medium body and medium carbonation.
I enjoy the low ABV versions of Guinness, but this version is so much richer. This is like the Guinness I remember from the days when it was first imported into the U.S. and only available at the Dubliner in Washington, DC. That may be attributable to nostalgia, a faulty memory or both. :-)

33 click bottle. Pours a dark brown with a tan head that lasts. Aroma of chocolate and alcohol. Taste of sweet syrup and bitter hops. Palate is smooth with a oily texture. Overall good strong stout, but even better in Ireland.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
