This is the best beer Guinness makes to me. Pour is black with a huge tan head that is full of peaks and valleys and it sticks to the glass.aroma is sweet, malty and to yes hops.full flavored with a ton of butterscotch and caramel flavors.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: Deep, thick, & black, almost like used motor oil with only a hint of deep ruby shining through the very edges, topped with a creamy tan head that recedes over the course of a few minutes. Aroma has toasted malts & barley, very faint toffee sweetness, & a little bit of red wine. Taste has a bigger combo of roasted malt & dark fruit; prunes, raisins, & some bitter roast. Light caramel & toffee flavors in the finish along with a slight floral bitterness from the hops. Surprisingly dry finish. Decent, easily accessible beer from Guinness, though I still prefer the weaker Draught for its drinkability.

There is a reason this beer remains one of the most recognizable in the world...and one that can be found more places in the world than any other beer I know. In Asia, where light lagers rule, this is the one other style that is available. The one Iím drinking now came from a 7/11 in Bankgok...the only non-light lager on the shelf. Just sayin...

She pours a pure dark black color and leaves the same colored body with a two and a half finger tan foamy head. The head must have lasted at least a good three minutes. What a show I had just watching the intricate bubbles pop out from the sides of the glass into the head while a light foamy lacing appeared as the head dissipated.
The smell has a great combination between the chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and barley.
The taste has all of the previously mentioned smells in the flavoring combined very nicely.
On the palate, she sits a medium on the body with a slight watery feel. It still felt pretty good on the tongue.
Overall, Iím pretty much blown away because I didnít think this was going to be this good.

Bottle from Asda Queensferry. Pours completely black with a thick tan head. Strong malty chocolate aromas which carry on over to the taste. Also picked up a hint of demarra sugar in the taste too. Soft carbonation and oily mouthfeel which goes down nicely. Horrendously overlooked as the best beer Guinness produce, very nice.

Almost black with an aroma of roasted coffee. Palate is bitter-sweet as is to be expected at this gravity. A fantastic beer and the best offering from a mega-brewer to cross my lips. An absolute life-saver in the Caribbean.

Bottle poured a deep dark brown hue w/ a large frothy tan head and sticky lacing. Big bold malty molasses aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are molasses, brown sugar, roasted malt, and licorice. Big bodied, soft carbonation, balanced mouthfeel, and a warm roasted finish.
