COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Arthurís philanthropic legacy and devotion to generous, full-flavored beers, Guinness Generous Ale is special edition holiday beer that was developed in a traditional winter ale style, but with more body and the distinct roast for which Guinness Draught is known. With a rich amber appearance, the vanilla notes accent Guinness Generous Aleís silky, yet vibrant taste.

Can. Dark amber pour with a creamy off white head. Roasted malt, spice and a bit of vanilla in the aroma and taste.

A malty sweetness with an underlying bitter aroma come from this clear deep red brew with an offwhite head. The taste is sweet with a slight bitterness and the taste of tin (probably from can). The aftertaste is sweet fading into a dry and bitter typical of this style. It's medium bodied and smooth.

Can @ home, thanks to MacBoost for this one off! Pours an orangish brown appearance with a foamy, brown head. The aroma is creamed corn, lemon, grass, and wood. Twangy lemon flavor. Moderate high sweetness, low bitterness. The flavor is metallic and lemony. Not too good.

Can @ home. Thanks, Boost. Cooper pour with a khaki head. Aroma is big on bread, toast, and grass. Not terribly fragrant. The flavor is just kind of toasty and grainy. Grassy and slightly bitter finish. A decent bit of bready malts. Ok.

Not much to love but not much to hate either! Has a lovely mahogany pour w/ a thin tan head that leaves good lacing. The aroma has a nice little holiday spice undertone to it. The flavor is nearly 100% clean w/ a little bit of dryness in the finish. Not bad!

Can thanks to Graeme! Pours a clear orange gold with small off white head. The aroma is cream and fruity malt. Medium mouth, sweet malt, metallic finish. Decent.

Guinness Generous Ale (Arthurís Holiday Ale)... Dusty, toffee malt aroma with sine caramel and toasted bread. Reddish-brown color; thin tan-colored crown. Flavor is light caramel, moderately dry earthy malt, nice herbal hop presence. Medium-light body; smooth. This is a really nice beer that Iíd drink more if it were available on a regular basis.

Pounder can from the winter 8-pack.. Pours clear deep amber with a short lived off white head.. Dark bread with an appropriate amount of English yeasty fruitiness showing.. Nutty/lesser earthy malts work well with the restrained grassy hops.. Obviously English.. Very well done.. Maybe a little tinny given the time in the can, but I would buy this if I could get it outside the Guinness 8-pack. Fine and surprisingly drinkable.

Canned. Poured medium amber with a short-lived head. The aroma picked up lots of vanilla and nutty notes, with a bit of toasted character. The flavor found similar, picking up a little molasses.. more vanilla on the finish. Lighter-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation.. OK feel.
