3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Situation: Celebrating a three-day week...
Glassware: Kisatsky pint...
Appearance: three-finger head completely fills the pint...dark cloudy lacing; strong dark brown body...
Aroma: malty, lactic base that is signature Guinness stout; a small hop trail, but malty as a Brit should be...
Palate: medium-bodied, mildly effervescent; a bit buttery....
Taste: malt tickles the teeth and tongue; mellow and smooth; an enjoyable session ale; do not really see the winter aspect of this beer....
Overall: a red in the vein of Newcastleís Werewolf, but a bit more substantial and more agreeable

Bottle from Walmart. Nose is bready and somewhat sweet. Toasted malt dominate. Some breadiness, with some underlying sweetness. Lightly hopped finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
English pint. Dark chocolate with some head. Hint of coffee and chocolate in the nose, has a sweet smell. A hearty beer, roasted coffee taste but the after taste is a bit watered down.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear mahogany brew, bone colored head, good embossed bottle, styling label. Malty aroma. Pleasant UK brown ale flavors. Tannic, lightly sweet, some light fruit, bitterness sneaks up and builds over the session. Medium body, mildly sweet finish. Thanks to PorterPounder for the trade.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear, deep amber with pretty much no head. Aromas of wood and some yeast. Flavor is a bit more on the malty side, but also leaves a bit of funk on the tongue. Some caramel malts come through as it warms in the scent but the flavors arenít changing too much. Is the secret ingredient chalk? Not a big fan of this one.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tried this on a whim. The bottle may be the best thing about this beer. 330ml bottle poured a nice reddish hue, off white fizzy head. Aroma of cardboard? Sweet, malt, caramel, bitterness lingers at the end.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle from variety pack. Pours a dark brown with a two inch tan head. Taste is of malt, caramel, hops, pine, some citrus and the normal Guinness flavors are there. Similar clean aroma. Has a mostly full body and a slightly bitter and dry finish. Easy to drink, satisfying and quite enjoyable. Well worth having again.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mild sweet caramel aroma, pours a reddish amber with a thin off-white head. Mild caramel taste, with a hint of spices, very thin mouthfeel. Not much going on here, itís a drinkable beer, but Iím not going to pass up the myriad of better Christmas ales that are out now.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Maybe I got a bad bottle, but nearly everything on the label is the opposite of reality. The only part of the description thatís accurate is the color. This is not full-flavored, has minimal body and no roastiness, and has no vanilla notes. Maybe the next bottle will be better, and Iíll have to rewrite this entry.
