COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Arthurís philanthropic legacy and devotion to generous, full-flavored beers, Guinness Generous Ale is special edition holiday beer that was developed in a traditional winter ale style, but with more body and the distinct roast for which Guinness Draught is known. With a rich amber appearance, the vanilla notes accent Guinness Generous Aleís silky, yet vibrant taste.

I was able to try this as part of the Winter Sampler pack. First off, why is this beer, or any of the other Guinness brews stuck in a package with the disgusting Guinness Black Lager, I will never know. This has a nice vanilla taste, strong roast, and a hint of toffee. This is a great beer, and worthy of the Guinness name, unlike a earlier mentioned brew.

Guinness Generous Ale has a medium, off-white head, a clear, reddish-brown appearance, lots of bubble streams, and just a few bits of lacing left behind in splotches. The aroma is of straight-up brown bread crust, with just the faintest spice. Taste is the same, with wonderful sweetness and a pleasant hop bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Guinness Generous Ale finishes clean, refreshing, and ultra drinkable. This is a superb offering from Diageo. RJT

This is a good beer! Nice roasted barley flavor with a hop taste at the end. I dig this beer too bad itís only available in a variety pack. I would love to be able to buy it in a 6 or 12 pack!

Situation: Celebrating a three-day week... Glassware: Kisatsky pint... Appearance: three-finger head completely fills the pint...dark cloudy lacing; strong dark brown body... Aroma: malty, lactic base that is signature Guinness stout; a small hop trail, but malty as a Brit should be... Palate: medium-bodied, mildly effervescent; a bit buttery.... Taste: malt tickles the teeth and tongue; mellow and smooth; an enjoyable session ale; do not really see the winter aspect of this beer.... Overall: a red in the vein of Newcastleís Werewolf, but a bit more substantial and more agreeable

Clear mahogany brew, bone colored head, good embossed bottle, styling label. Malty aroma. Pleasant UK brown ale flavors. Tannic, lightly sweet, some light fruit, bitterness sneaks up and builds over the session. Medium body, mildly sweet finish. Thanks to PorterPounder for the trade.

Bottle from the Winter sampler, from Harris Teeter Crozet. Pours a clear dark amber color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of nutty notes, toffee malts and a fruity finish. The taste is citrus, stone fruits, caramel malts, earthy notes, mild hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Solid beer.

Pours a beautiful rich mahogany with a half inch of off white head. Aroma is a lot of sweet caramel with a grassy note and a background of spiciness. Taste wise, the sweet caramel again comes to the fore, with a touch of toastiness and some honey, finishing off with a nice noticeable but unobtrusive hop bite. Nicely balanced and medium bodied, smooth and tasty, surprisingly good.

330ml Bottle. Nose is bready and somewhat sweet. Toasted malt dominate. Some breadiness, with some underlying sweetness. Lightly hopped finish. I recommend

Guinness really ought to brew a batch of every beer style. Their approach to beer making is unrivaled, unmatched, unmistakably unique.
