COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Arthurís philanthropic legacy and devotion to generous, full-flavored beers, Guinness Generous Ale is special edition holiday beer that was developed in a traditional winter ale style, but with more body and the distinct roast for which Guinness Draught is known. With a rich amber appearance, the vanilla notes accent Guinness Generous Aleís silky, yet vibrant taste.

Moderate bitter sweet malt aroma. Dark amber color with a medium white head. Some weird egg smell right before taking a sip. Mild sweet throughout with a very light bitterness that builds in the finish.

12oz bottle. Filtered looking amber-red-tan body, this lacy off-white head. The aroma is not so impressive, factory dry lifeless toffee. A sort of boring, mineral-dry amber- brown ale. Not really up to Guinness standards, this is sort of tame and uninspired. Medium bodied, drinkable, but all around unappealing.

Odd aroma of funk. Deep brownish amber in color with no foam. Hoppy flavor upfront with a milky/vanilla taste on the finish. Overall, this is very basic. Just hops and vanilla flavor.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brownish red with a one finger tan head. Smells of toasted bread, malt, and a little caramel. The taste is of toast, light caramel sweetness and a bitterness that has a slightly metallic touch that lingers in the finish. Low carbonation with a medium body.

A dark brown ale characteristic of the guinness look. Taste vaguely of spices with the toasted malt. Good beer both nothing that makes it outstanding for a holiday beer.

Tolerable but not especially good. To me thereís something off about it, or just uninspired; I was expecting more from Guinness, especially considering the brewerís description. OK as an amber ale.

"A fairly typical amber type ale. Bready toasty slightly spicy hopped red. Not sure why this is a winter pack price. Luckily found a single not a 12 pack :)"

Bottle. Dark, woody red, with the thinnest of macro-style heads. The aroma is toasty and maybe a little caramel. Drinks with an upfront bite of toffee, but settles quite quickly into a fairly empty character. Unoffending in any way, this is a simple, even-keeled ale for the masses. (#4829, 11/24/2012)

Pours a copper-amber color with a light foamy head. Aroma is light and breaddy. Flavor is a little roasty and metallic. Itís....okay.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated transparent dark copper brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was brown malt and musty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of brown malt and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.
