3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PorterPounder (4634) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 15, 2012Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - Mahan - 12 oz bottle - part of a holiday 12 pack mixer. Very dark copper pour, thick sticky khaki colored head - nice looking beer. Aroma is distant, pick up some brief unsweetened chocolate notes, a hint of vanilla. Flavor has some caramel notes, a nice underlying mellow citrus bitterness and a back end trace of vanilla. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Pretty solid.

bottle. Amber with small head. Sweet with light malt, and slightly medicinal. I don’t know what else to say about this. Other than the slightly unpleasant flavor, It’s just extremely boring.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 DrnkMcDermott (2632) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Single bottle purchase from Famous Liquors. Slight oxidation under cap that goes away after pouring. Pours a big, non-Guinnessy head over a deep brown body. General caramel malt smell with a note of Scottish peat; not a bad surprise. Mouthfeel a bit flaccid and watery at first, then there an aggressive hit of malt. Malts get deeper further down the glass, leading to a slight note of phenol; well, if this is their holiday beer, I’ve found it a bit past its prime.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 radio_nowhere (440) - Maryland, USA - MAR 31, 2013
12oz bottle from Guinness holiday variety pack. Poured into pint glass, clear ruby-ish brown color with minimal off-white head. Aroma of toasty caramel malt. Taste is the aroma balanced with some decent grass hops. Light body, average carbonation, smooth, balanced, some lingering grass afterwards. Decent.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 VALIS (210) - Nashua, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 30, 2013
A foul aroma with a slight bit of malt, but mostly chemicals, corn, water. Taste is rather neutral, neither noteworthy nor offensive, with a fair bit of carbonation and a little sweetness. Watery palate, nothing lingers. Would not buy again.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 b33f (23) - Illinois, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Poured into an American pint. Rusty color with a small amount of beige head which disappears almost immediately. Aroma is faint malts and corn. Taste is watery with a little bit of malt, with a distinct piss aftertaste. Palate is like bush light style. This beer sucks dick. but, I’ve had worse, so I gave it a 1.2 to leave some headroom... Now I’m going to share it with the drain.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark nut brown with a ruby hue and minimal head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla and christmas spices. Taste is light bitter. Coffee, spices abd a little vanilla. Medium bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. Nothing to seek out but drinkable.

Bottle from a SaveMart. Pours brown with a slight beige head. Mild caramel aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is roasty with a hint of ginger or some sort of spice. Very mild hint. There’s some vanilla, I think. Give it this - there is a lot of flavor compared to the macro lagers. If it was the only thing available, I’d drink it.

Irish session stuff through and through. Though really more of a Brit bitter actually. Reddish brown, malts dominate nose and taste, a bit of caramel malt helps. Okay.
