Tap at PJís, Carlingford, 26/01/13. Light black with a good sized light tan/off white head that retains very well. Excellent lacing ensues thereafter. Nose is very muted - not a lot to note! Malt, grain, barley, light metallic notes. Taste comprises light roast malt, mineral tones, barley, grain. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. A far blander version of the not exceptionally flavoursome original!

From 430ml widget can. Dark ruby pour with nitro cream head. Slight musty malt aroma. Taste is slightly thinner than other dry stouts, but not bad. Roasty and dry with slightly sweet finish with I hint of lingering bitterness. If you love high ABV stouts like exports and imperials this will certainly disappoint. That said, it's an easy drinking stout with a nice nitro mouthfeel. I'd drink one of these over any lite pale lager as a session beer.

Draught in The Hairy Lemon, hadnít been in there in years. Black with a red hue to the base. Tastes a bit like canned Guinness or what would be considered a good stout in an Irish bar on the continent. Not a ringing endorsement I know. A little watery, nice creamy texture but lacks the solidness of the original.

I can understand the theory behind making something like this, Iím just not sure it has a very good practical application. Pours just like the real thing, aroma is weaker than the original which doesnít have the strongest smell to begin with. Taste is watery and thin, bland. Finish is thin. Overall this is maybe the best of the low abv stouts out there right now, but still not going to cut the mustard.

Can. Creamy off white head. Slightly lighter colour than Guinness Draught, a dark mahogany. Nose is nitrogen, iron, roasted malt, red fruit. Dusty light bitterness. Thinner than Guinness Draught, with a watery palate. Not bad for its strength though.

Definitely the best low ABV beer in the world, this is basically indistinguishable at first sip from standard Guinness Draught/Draft, somewhat more watery and perhaps a touch less of the chalk/hop deep balance of the original

More like low-strength if truth be told. What flavour Guinness has is sorely missing in this alternative to the main brew.

Looks like Guinness. Tastes like a watery Guinness. That's all really. Bigger taste than I was expecting from the abv. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The head is robust, the body is stable. It smells roasty, darkmalty, creamy, foamy, nice! The taste is creamy, less carbonation, roasty, darkmalty, full bodied, nice. Almost as good as the normal Guinness Draught. One of the best low alcohol beers I had! 14/13/12/13/-/13

On tap in Kildare. Colour ruby red almost black with a thick white head. Exactly the same look as a classic guinness. Taste close enough too. Itís just a little bit more watery and a not as well balanced . Overall I was impressed.

Enjoyed a pint in oasis letterkenny followed after a full strength which not having had one for awhile tasted pretty bland and mediocre, so the mid strength that followed was pretty much the same in my book, but nice to have a pint without getting buzzed too quick you could pace yourself with a few of these in between, would go back for more
