A beautiful beer, white air bubbles settles and developes a completely black beer with a fantastic long lasting creamy white head, suits the mustache, light notes of liquorous, coffee, chocolate and cought medicine. Low carbon. Mostly sweet, more sweet than normal Guinness, little bitter. Soft and creamy, perfect mouth feel. A little metalic aftertaste.. Need power to be really good. Ligther than normal Guinness.

On tap at the Long Hall, Dublin. Third in the stout series. Looks similar to Guinness but less black. Coffee and caramel flavor. Cappucino, actually. Not sure I could handle more than one of these. Fun to try in Dublin.

Had this on draft at my hotel in Dublin...May, 2007. This pours into the pint and is identical to the original Guinness, taste is slightly sweeter, mouthfeel a little lighter. I think there is more malt presence in this. Very good.

On tap @ Bewleys Hotel and St James Gate in Dublin. Pours a nice deep black with a nice nitro brown head just like any other Guinness does. Aroma of Guinness, but with a little more sweetness. Flavor is much the same........the bitterness in Guinness has been balanced out with more malt sweetness. I like it better than original guinness for sure.

On tap at Temple Bar. I somehow missed entering this rating from my trip to Ireland Pours opaque black with a large tan head, much like the black stuff. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, pine and coffee. Taste is similar to the original, but may be a little smoother? Difficult to tell without a a side-by side rating.

Its a slightly sweeter guinness. A bit of bubblegum but not too much. Its a nice break up of 4-5 guinness taps, but nothing to write home about (but enough to rate home about).

Draught - McGann’s Pub, Doolin, Co. Clare A black, black stout, with a darker head than the standard Draught. From the moment the barkeep ("Are you ok, then?") drew the draught, I knew I was in for a treat. It’s strong -- definitely stronger than regular Guinness; slightly sweet, and all-around more like an American brewer’s Irish stout offering -- and, in all likelihood, I imagine it to be more like the original 18th century Guinness recipe, if still not nearly as strong.

Dublin-07. I tried this one at the St. James’s Gate Brewery. Pours black with white head like the original Guinness. Very similar to the original, just not as much roasty flavour, basically watered down Guinness.

A new and nice rendation of the classic guinness. Light and crisp beer with a lower amount of burned barley. Nothing special but very drinkable!
