MrManning (1415), London, Ontario, Canada May 10, 2008 Bottle- Deep, dark brown, almost black, with a thick and frothy mocha cap. Nose of toasty, roasted barley with woodsmoke and coffee, leading to dark chocolate and vanilla extract. The taste is bitter dark chocolate covered coffee beans with vanilla and oak, lending a hand to a herbal, sharp hop bitterness towards the finish. Quite a full mouthfeel for such a light beer. I like this one.
Psylok (3), , Italy does not count Jul 20, 2008 sure is a good bber, more better than the version iwe can drink in italy. that one i drank in dublin is really good. gameface23 (47), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Jul 20, 2008 I liked this much better than guinness draft. The nitrogen in the draft kills most of the interesting flavors that exist in the extra stout. It pours a dark black. Hints of coffee in the flavor. furly (3), belleville, Michigan, USA does not count Jul 16, 2008 this is a true stout.I’m going to ireland for the unpasteurised version. neo_hippie2 (105), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pretty good dry stout. Lots of roasted malts on the palate with some coffee. Roasted, not too intensely bitter and a dry finish. Pretty good brew, wouldnt pick it over the draught, but if selection was limited id go with this one and not be unhappy about it. Gary__ (39), London, Greater London, England Jul 13, 2008 Updated: Jul 16, 2008Stick with the 7.5% Guinness Extra stout, if drinking Guinness products. This may have some burnt chocolate taste but its way generic . Lacks gusteo or something.Nice beige head though.
