Info: 500ml bottle, 21/10-2007, 182/500 rampmaster (117), Alden, New York, USA Jun 21, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a short brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. It has a very dark brown color that appears black and very opaque. Its head is thick and foamy with a tan color that leaves behind light tan lace on the glass. The aroma has dark roasted malt grains with a light hint of some nice aromatic and grassy hops. There is a full robust roasted grain flavor with a hint of brunt sweetness that quickly turns dry with some grassy and floral hops at add a perfect balance of bitterness to stand up to the malty goodness. On the palate it is starts of smooth then turns very dry and crisp inside of a very drinkable medium body with a nice bitter fading finish. It’s much fuller in flavor and body than its nitro injected Cousin Guinness Draft.
polomagnifico (380), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Jun 18, 2008 bottled. Aroma of roast caramel malt and very slight chocolate/coffee. Very dark brown/black with average off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is roast caramel malt and a little coffee/chocolate. Palate is light and smooth with soft carbonation. Below average but at least you can buy it most anywhere. lithy (68), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 29, 2008 Dark black pour but the light comes through at the edges. Puffy tan head. Nice dark roasted malt nose but not much else. Cool and light on the tongue but with a nice body to it. Again solid roasted malts in the taste but not much else. Good and solid beer with a nice lingering finish but not much depth. downender (1412), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 24, 2008 Bottled from Sainsburys. Almost black with a billowing but short-lived tan head. Slight, roasty aroma. Light mouth feel with some sweet malt followed by a hint of coffee. An abrupt, dry finish was disappointing. A lot more enjoyable than draught Guinness but still a poor stout.
