If you were in a pub sometime between 1821 and 1970, chances are this is the Guinness you would have been drinking. Originally brewed as the XX version of our Porter, it’s hoppy, roasty, and crisp, with a bittersweet finish.

On tap. Pours a clear dark brown with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, coffee, caramel and a hint of peat with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation.

Negra con reflejos rubíes, de espuma muy cremosa y excelente retención gracias al nitrógeno (único punto fuerte). Aroma a grano tostado, ligeramente frutal. Sabor a malta tostada, agria y un final seco agradable.

Lacks the character of draught. Pours jet black with tan Co2 head that doesn’t hold up for long.Aroma of smokey dark malt and burnt woods. Medium bodied. More watery than its draught counterpart. Carbonation is stingy. Taste has chestnut, burnt cedar, marmite , espresso and faint cocoa into its finish which is nowhere near as smooth as nitro. I guess I’ve been spoiled by draught, but I really don’t care for this bottle.

Dik donker bier met minimale blonde kraag. Heerlijk voor in een pub en goed getapt maar veel minder lekker uit fles of blik.
