Not a big stout fan but this isn't terrible enough to pour down the drain.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours ruby tinged black into an English pint. White creamy head with excellent retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Sweet bready nuts and caramel aromas. Thin with earthy caramel and bitter nuts front to back and into the medium-length metallic finish.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
440ml/15floz nitro can into a Guinness glass; served cold.
Aroma: Hay. Cereals. Not a lot going on.
Appearance: Clear, cola-colored body with a thick and creamy head. Itís weird seeing a body that clear with a classic Guinness head.
Taste: Cereals. Nothing reminiscent of Guinness Draught.
Palate: Light body. Smooth though. Short finish.
Overall: Red stout? I think not. This stuff is super light and has no flavors typical of stouts. Try it once.

Can to glass. Pouts dark brown with an off white head. Shows red in the light. Aroma of grains. Very sweet caramel with a bit of pine hop. Not really very good.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2013 Poured from a pint sized can. Notes of toffee, roasted malts, leathery. This is easy drinking. A tasty beer with highly roasted malts, toffee notes, creamy mouth feel, cacao, beady.

I broke my rule about beer in cans for this one (it was the only way that I could find it), and Iím sure glad that I did. Itís easily one of the most beautiful beers Iíve ever seen once poured into a glass. A deep, deep red with a massive, long lasting cappuccino colored head. Aroma is faint, but what is there smells delicious: malt and raisin. The flavor is like a roasted chocolate milk with barley and malt, and it fills the mouth like hot cocoa. Absolutely delicious. It wouldnít do for me to be able to get my hands on this year-round haha

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Very faint sweet malt aroma. Looks like a slightly lighter-colored version of the standard Guinness with a two-inch thick head that doesnít go away. Tastes like a 70/30 mixture of water and Guinness, but a little sweeter and without the coffee notes of the original. It has no body or mouthfeel at all- you might get a bit of foam on the first few sips, but the liquid is essentially water. Carbonation is negligible- on a scale of 1 to 10 itís a 2. The finish is quick except for a lingering unpleasantly earthy/bitter taste in the mouth.
This is an exceptionally disappointing beer. Iím actually embarrassed for them for putting the Guinness name on it. On the other hand, given how light it is and the relatively low ABV, itís great for when you want to order something with a brand name and drink something that looks like beer without any of the inconveniences of a worthwhile product.
0/10 would not buy or drink again.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pour is a dark brown with a large creamy tan head. Aroma is almost nothing. Some sweetness is about it. Flavor is a little better. An ok roasted malt but nothing really to back it up. Thin as thin could be. No real body to this one. Donít know what they were going for here. The color of the beer is even thin.

As you can expect from a Guinness, great appeal from the pour. Unfortunately mediocrity takes over from the taste. Certainly drinkable but much too bland for my expectations of a stout.

From a pint can. Pours a clear cola brown with a thick ecru, nitro head. Malty nose. Flavors of raisin and light toffee. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Crisp, dry finish.
