Pours a thin black liquid with a foamy light brown head. Rich aroma of spices and very malty. Complex dry taste of malts, caramel and a bit smoked, dry and bitter. Has a dry bitter finish. Somehow has a bit ashy taste to it as well which is the only thing I dislike. Good beer overall, but not my favorite stout.

Dark, dark brown. Verging on blackness. Medium pour produces a massive 5-finger head of thick creamy tan foam. About a full finger of it was standing above the rim of the glass. Excellent retention and amazing lacing. Butterey caramel and coffee with a touch of chocolate. Dark fruits. English toffee. Vanilla extract. Nice roasted malts upfront. Sweet vanilla caramel follows. Nice dark fruit hints. Finishes with the bite of burnt coffee grounds. Hides it’s alcohol quite well, even though it does provide a slight bit of warmth. Much more complex than the more readily available version. Feels good, but is not quite as creamy and velvet-like as it’s relative. Still great compared to others in the same style, but could stand to be a bit thicker and richer. Very drinkable, in general. Would rate higher if not for that nasty bite, at the end. Still, I wish I could bet better access to this.

Very nice arome of brown sugar and roasted coffee, also a caramel background. Pitch black in colour with a very frothy longlasting beige head. It just stays beautiful allover. Flavor of chocolate malt and a bitterness that might come from the hops. Aftertaste is very coffeeye and bitter, might come from the alcohol, or just the hops, don’t know. This was a discovery, as to I had a very bad prejudice when it came to Guinness. Awesome beer!

Nice stout, almost black in colour. Aroma is roasted coffee, malts and brown sugar. taste is a little peppery with hints of coffee and hops. finale is tastefull and shows some Alc.

Bottle from 2002. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

33cl bottle poured into a pint glass. Black with ample lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is roasted sweet malt, notes of chocolate, coffee. Flavor is strong roasted malt, bittersweet. Creamy texture. Lasting bitter finish. Good beer.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass better. Black as the night, creamy brown head, lasting. Starts strong and malty, also quite dry, more and more woody, notes of liqourice, also a bit smoky. Finish a bit unbalanced. Looks better than it tastes.

Black body with good size tan head. Some smooth milky coffee in the aroma with some soft dried fruit late. Taste is lovely but I am partial to dark beers, chocolate a little liquorice and dark fruits again.
