Black, nice foamy dark white head. Good aroma - sweet, dusty dry malt, mocha. Taste is sweet, very dry, some additional mocha notes. Simple, but very good, no relation at all to regular Guinness and likely the best of the Foreign export versions I have had so far. Boutip (2358), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poured a deep black color stout with a huge light brown color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of liquorice with some light roasted malt and some sweet malt notes. Taste is a mix between some light roasted malt with some notes of liquorice and medium sweet Belgian malt with what appears to be a Belgian type yeast. Medium full body with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A very well balance beer overall with a level of complexity greater then the regular version of Guinness available over here. shrubber85 (2894), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Bottle. Creamy molasses/sorghum malt aroma. Midnight black with giant tan head. Cafe latte, molasses and bitter charcoal flavor. Slight metallic aftertaste. So much better than Guinness in the States. douglas88 (1596), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

The head is simply amazing; thick and foamy without all that nitro they use on tap. The aroma is mostly a deep roasted malt. The taste has many of Guinness’s signature elements; a dry roasted malt that hints at both fruit and a bitterness. But, it also has a warm caramel sweetness and a alcohol aspect that is great. The mouthfeel is also great; a fizzy warmness that is missing from other versions. Overall, just great. Thanks Brad. AxlLives (11), Maryland, USA

Pours a ruby-red, black coffee body with a tan, med, creamy, fully lasting head... Aromas of toasted malts, dark chocolate, mild coffee, dough yeast, and light gingerbread... Tastes lightly sweet with soft palate, chocolate, bitter coffee and long finish... Light-medium bodied with a creamy texture... No alcohol evident... Tasty tasty tasty!!! I’d have this again and again... Muchas gracias a Will Knight... goozen (1088), Leiden, Netherlands

Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Average beige creamy head that mostly lasted. Dark mahogany color. Fair display of lacework. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, light alcoholic sniff, toasted malt. Over the palate burned malt, bitter coffee, hint of dried fruit. Quit full bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Bitter coffee and dark chocolate finish.

Pours a clear, dark brown with a tint of red and a creamy, beige head. Light tartness from the burned malt in the aroma. Quite full-bodied, fruity, vinous with very burned - almost coffeeish - malt accents and a distinct, malt bitter finish. 120108
