Bottle. The usual dark brown bordering on black pours gently into my glass, follwed by a flowing, slightly brownish head. It is incredible that it can stay for so long, and it continues to leave nice lacings on the glass. Aroma is primarily roasted, but compared to the usual Guinness, this has more chocolate aromas, and a whiff of dried fruits. Mouthfeel is spectacularly creamy, but feels lighter than the Irish original. Flavour is sweet, roasted, lots of chocolate. There is a fine vinious edge to it, giving me a lasting impression in my mouth. The roasted flavour gives the finish a light sour bitter edge. Great - much better than the original

Bottle, BB 8/8/08. Poured a clear, deep garnety-brown with a creamy well-retained beige head and sticky lacing.. looked great! Aroma had a decidedly foreign stout feel to it... burnt semi-sweet chocolate and mild coffee with sweet herbs and dark caramel. Flavor was of sweet, yet bitter burnt chocolate with coffee bitterness.. almost candied caramel and light darker spices at the back-end.. tasty. Medium-bodied with a grainy and tacky feel to it.. Solid brew.

Bottle. Black with light brown head. Aroma of coffee, caramel, metal and some liqourice and a hint of alcohol. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, very mild compared to the alcohol content. Bitter finish. Much better than the draught Guinness that’s available here in Denmark, this is actually good!

Bottle. Black color with large creamy excellent mostly lasting light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate / coffee, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter (malt burnt bitter) with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

I haven’t drank the stuff at the source, but this was easily the tastiest Guinness I’ve had. Black with a gorgeous brown head, roasty espresso aromas that carry into the flavor. Very roasty, very malted, a touch sweet, mildly bitter, and without the empty blandness that other bottled versions often have. Not just creamy but also lively. The burnt finish is not extreme, but dry. A good beer.

Had this in Antwerp, bought from some shady grocery store on the wrong side of town - got to love it. Black with a thick, bubbly brown foam that laces considerably. Aroma is strong roasted malt, caramel, and some interesting and rather intense fruity esters. Also a slight alcohol kick to the nose. Taste is strong roasted and chocolate notes, but there is a tinge of something here that is very reminiscent of more classic Belgian styles, again playing on fruity esters and a faint yeasty/spicy dynamic. Heavily bitter finish and a long lasting roasty aftertaste. Very thick, vicuous, little carbonation.

Sampled at the Woodshop Tasting. Poured dark almost black color with a nice light brown color. Aroma had a smokey oak caracter with some roast, coffee and caramel. Taste was just as complex as the aroma with a slight alcohol finish.
