3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very dark, coffee-like color with a brown, creamy head which fades quickly. Smells of coffee, but sweeter, and like ... trappist beer, I guess. This stout is low on carbonation, ensuring a nice and smooth mouthfeel, allowing the drinker to taste this brew really well. Taste of plums and sweetness, then coffee/mocca, chocolate and roasted malts. Bitter aftertaste which once again reminds of coffee. Very enjoyable!

Once the stout to judge all other stouts by and since surpassed by those upstart craft brewers. Nevertheless, a classic and the best of the Guinness offerings. Short lived head, black as your hat, roasted malt and all the other stuff. Fabulous bitter finish. My other half mistook this for ordinary Guinness and couldnít drink it, poured it down the drain and replaced it with that inferior Foreign Export Stout. Weíre still together...

33cl. Pours very dark red almost black with a creamy beige head, good lacing. Not the aroma I would had expected, light olive feel, caramel, sweet, winy. Flavor...well...smoked,Light roasted malt, olive, light alchool,a bit acidic...quite complex

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nearly black, no head. It has a regular roasted malt aroma and is relatively strong tasting but palatable with a small fizz in the throat.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black liquid, thick head.
The bouquet has roasty coffee, a little liquorice, as well as a small fruitiness. Taste has with coffee and toasted malt. Liquorice and fruits, with some caramel. a bit of dry and hoppy finnish.
Palate is fairly full-bodied, a bit of alcohol background.
Special Export is in any case a fine stout and washing hands down the brewery Draught and Extra Stout.

Fles 0,33 zwart met mooie donkere schuimkraag. Ruikt naar gebrande mout. Stout met aparte branderige smaak. Niet mijn stout.

Fat toffee and roast, thick and rich. Very long roasty finish, quite bitter. Some mollases and raisins aswell, very thick mouthfeel. Beautiful rich, bitter chocolate finish.

Iím Dutch, why would I need a special version of the great and mighty Guinness? They even sweetened it up, the bastards. I prefer the original.
