Bottle. Slightly bitter roasted brain aromaPours dark brown to black with a big creamy lacing golden brown head. Demera sugar, caramel and roasted barley, herbal hops. Roast and chocolate aftertaste. Full, slightly sticky on the palate, delicate carbonation prevents it from being cloying.

Dark, near black with brown head. There’s roasted matls and some hoppy bitterness, along with some undefinable sweetness (maybe toffee). Nice stout, but not as good as most impies.

33cl bottle at home. Exactly 1 year old. Black, mokka head. Nose is very roasted, dark malts, bit cold coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is once again very roasted, not as full as I like a stout to be. Aftertaste lasts pretty well, roasted, coffee and chocolate.

Pours black with a brown head that sticks to the glass. Aroma is coffee, burned malts, maybe some cocoa Roast coffee taste, some bitter notes. Dry aftertaste, mocha and roastyness. Some chocolatty notes Definitely better than the draught version. (expire date was february 2004)

Bijna zwart van kleur met veel kraag bij het inschenken, ziet er goed uit. Ruikt en smaakt erg moutig en vol. Bitterzoet ook met een lange rokerige nasmaak. Lekker bier om rustig te drinken.

Chocolate and caramel on the nose. It pours black with a think white head. Bittersweet dark chocolate upfront with caramel malts and toasted bread following Very clean crisp finish, refreshing

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2011 (Bottled) Nothing too different about this to the other GF/Stout in recipe -other than more booze . When ive sampled the other Guinness exports (dublin, nigeria) im struck by the difference in quality to the usual soulless draught guinness on reflection . I’m also left happy enough ,as its a pretty sippable and easy texture on offer ,its oily roasty richness is freindly -united with an 8% that is warming . This rests black with a beige ring that dies soon...oaky ,rich roasty ,buttery nose . rich notes linger -suggesting dark fruit (raisins) winey and oily , a dry roast finish gives a dark chocolate bitterness .
A nice robust Guinnes equivalent -with decent complexity.

Pours completely black with a small head. Heavy coffee, malt, brown sugar aroma. Beautiful taste of roast coffee with a refreshing hint of sourness. Velvet mouthfeel. Excellent beer - the only problem is you’ll want one of these whenever you try the watery standard Guinness.
