The aroma is full of licorice and alchohol. Lots of licorice in the mouth again, now with a citrus tang. A good medium mouthfeel, though maybe a touch syrupy in the finish. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England

I’ve always loved the guiness foreign extra stout, used to drink it as a child. First time I’ve had the Belgian version though. Pours a very dark brown with a creamy looking head than the biscuit brown I’m used to. Still smells beautiful and knocks the normal Guinness into a cocked hat. Very nice, love it. Pours dark, dark brown out of the bottle and settles in as black in the glass with a huge rocky tan head that lasted for ages and left great lacing. The aroma is a little better than draught with a slightly more evident chocolate malt backbone but with the bitterness I expected. The taste, however, was much more complex than i expected. It has the roasted malt backbone but with milk chocolate sweetness balanced with some coffee bitterness in the finish. Very, very nice flavor. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with good carbonation with the patented Guinness creaminess. This is a revelation compared to standard Guinness and I’m lucky I got the chance to try this one. cellar (495), Dublin, Ireland

Pours dark brown to garnet with thin mocha head. The aroma is bold dark fruity esters of sweet black grapes, plums, ripe cherries along with mild roasty to burnt malts. Very fruity aroma and distant from the standard non draft version of this beer. Smells yum. The taste mirrors the aroma with big dark grapes notes, plums, prunes and raisins. Wow, very different Guinness brew. lithilorn (176), Covilhã, Portugal

Creamy body and great brown foam, taste is a great combination, coffe and chocolate plus the roasted malt, wow the result is excellent. tarjei (1746), Bryne, Norway
