UPDATED: MAY 7, 2013 33cl bottle split with 77ships and Man Ki. BB 12/2015.

Bottle from 2012. Cream soda, root beer, licorice, bread, wine, oak, dark fruit, raisins. Foamed up like there’s no tomorrow. Thick brownish foam. Dark brown amber pour. Very bright and fizzy with a touch of wine tannins and oak.

Bottle at dad's - pours cloudy deep burgundy with silky, khaki head that persists. Nose is vinous, oaky and some dark fruits and some estery notes. Flavor profile very vinous, oak, dark fruits, hybrid Flemish red with some estery notes along with caramel malt body. Found this to be solid ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Jambes lisses. Levure douce, fine, très belle veine. Alcool très progressif (slowly but surely...).

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy brown with a small short lived tan head. Aroma of menthol, heavy herbal, caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Floral notes coming out in the palate with sweet overripe dark fruits and figs. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. No Head or carbonation. Clear deep amber pour. Well hidden alcohol. Odd aftertaste.

The first beer made by Zeven Zonden but brewed at Gulden Spoor, referring to gluttony as the first of the seven sins, hence the name of the beer company. Creamy, pale beige, thick head, dark brown colour approaching black; not too strong aroma, some coffee, bitter chocolate, dates, blackcurrant, peat. Soft and creamy palate with dark and candied fruits, smoky touch, finishing in a roasted bitterness more reminiscent of bitter chocolate than of the usual coffee. Interesting.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a khaki head. Sweet malt, caramel, sugar, yeast, toffee and funk aroma. Caramel, sweet malt, dark fruit, molasses, sugar, yeast, toffee, toast and toast flavors. Medium full body with a sweet taste and a sugar, caramel and malt finish.

Dark beer. nose: spices, too complex, too overwhelming, alcohol perfume, too much of the good. mint? taste: syrup, a lot of alchol, very "thick on the tongue". second thoughts, "Gula"? Greed? Mabye this beer is indeed "Gula". And is it right where it should be? Over the edge, hmmm, have to think about it. On a blind tasting this would really fall through.

Slightly hazy dark brown color with a small off-white head that keeps a lacing for a long time. Aroma of dark fruits, wood, liquor and honey. Taste is very sweet like honey and liquor. Low carbonation and full body with a mellow sugary finish.
