3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer pours a sparkling, effervescent, amber color with a moderately full, fizzy, creamy, off-white head which does settles to a thin, creamy layer and leaves minimal lace. The nose is rich and aromatic with spicy clove notes all aver, spicy wisps of alcohol, allspice, pie crust, plum skins, figs, brown sugar, and some molasses. The flavor is similar but bubblegum is also noted, detracting from the other rich notes; still some figs and plum skins, allspice, clove phenols, light pie crust. The palate is very warm, lively, full, oily, and slightly syrupy; seemingly overbearing but somehow it worked for me. The finish is long, sweet, and warm with bubblegum, clove, and some earthy and sugary notes. Certainly more warm and overbearing than most would like but it works well for me. The original was more complex and carried less of the bubblegum notes. Nice, but flawed, and I would like to try one in about two years.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a nice clear orange amber with a beaded white head and lively carbonation. The aroma is spicy Belgian yeast, fresh bread? And bubblegum. The taste is spicy, light sweet, and a dry finish. Good stuff.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home. Aroma is big on caramelish malt, faint hop note. Flavour is sweet and sticky, malty, some herbal and slightly fruity hop bitterness. Quite alcoholic.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is warme karamel en gedroogd fruit, wel vluchtig. Smaak is krachtiger met kersen, rozijnen, beetje portwijn en vleug chocolade. Nasmaak blijft aardig overeind.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours crystal clear amber and light tight carbonation and sticky thick lacing. Complex aroma melds honey, caramel, cotton candy, and apples. Flavor is caramel apple, and while sweet, it does not reach cloying. Amazing.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
I was expecting more of this beer, it wasn’t bad but I thought it wasn’t anything special either. It was very fruity but it is more a tripel in my opinion than it is a quad.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Def lighter than the original. Fruitier too. This is like a Tripel on steroids, whereas the reg GD is a dubbel on steroids. Not bad.

Amber pour, off white head. Aroma is loaded with figs, dates, raisins, port, candy sugar, honey. Flavor is sweet, very malt forward. Dates, figs, golden raisins, dessert like. But enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is spicy, pepper, fruit, caramel. The appearance is a hazy orange, white head. The flavor is spicy, pepper upfront, then fruity, boozy, caramel. the finish is spices, and pepper, lingering sweetness. Medium in body. Good.
