3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (33cL, mild gusher). Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), lightly yeasty (basement, cobwebs), with notes of banana, marshmallow, candy sugar, dried apricot, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, fizzy/lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. Along with the regular Gulden Draak, this is one of the more passable Steenberge products. It’s very sweet and boozy, but for that type of thing it’s not too bad...it’s not cloying, and the fruity aroma is pleasant (although it smells primarily of sugars).

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not really what I expected from a quadrupel. Too sweet for my tastes. Cartainly not a bad one but I prefer the 'real' Gulden Draak.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated transparent golden brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was citrus musty and malt hop. The bubbly mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The flavor contained notes of caramel hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.
