3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle served in Duvel snifter: Pours a coppery hue with an initial large frothy white head that does fade a bit, okay lace. The aroma has notes of banana, apricot, peach, dusty earthy esters, some alcohol and candi sugar, and caramlized biscuity malts. The taste is a touch sweet and fruity with a dollop of spicy notes on the finish. Unlike many Quads this does not have the character of Special B malts nor the overall depth. Seems more like an amped up Tripel with all the same yeastie notes. The mouth feel is smooth and moderately carbonated with some boozy warmth as well. Gotta admit I am a bit disappointed in this beer, was expecting something it failed to deliver upon.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Corpo pieno, mediamente carbonata.
Molto buona, anche se l'originale la ritengo superiore.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Has a nice dark amber color with very little foam. Not as smooth or sweet as the Basic Gulden Draak. Slightly harsher with a little less flavor. It still is fairly smooth for having 10.5% ABV. I still prefer the smooth liquid caramel flavors of the original white label.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a dark clear amber body with a large foamy off-white head with a limited life span. Aroma is caramel, Norwegian brown cheese, grains, candi sugar and hints of figs, metal and raisins. Taste is caramel, raisins, alcohol, candi sugar, rum, Norwegian brown cheese and hints of grains, metal and honey. Full body, high carbonation. Not bad, but rather one-dimensional and without the complexity I expect from a full-blown quadrupel; this one could easily have been labelled a Belgian Strong Ale. The metallic hints draw down the score somewhat. A decent beer, but no more.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy orange colour with a thin but lasting head. Aroma has quite a bit going on with apple, toffee, plum, figs and yeast. Taste is somewhat sweet but as you get through the glass the bitterness come through although not too strong. Nicely balanced and quite complex, the alcohol strength isn’t too noticable. Somewhat thin but overall very nice indeed.

Bottle 0.33 l, Piwnica, Wrocław, Poland.
Ciemnobursztynowe, wpadające w miedź, mętnawe piwo o obfitej i puszystej pianie oraz przyjemnym, słodowym, owocowym i winnym aromacie. W smaku gęste, rozgrzewające, początkowo słodkawe i owocowe, następnie winne z lekko wytrawnym i łagodnie goryczkowym finiszem. Mocno rozgrzewające gardło i przyjemnie drapiące w przełyk.
