3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Brewer’s Haven Boise... Paid $13ish... Pours a hazy dark yellow/orange... looks like peach or apricot nectar... not very pleasing... the head is off white and sticks around for quite a while... Not nearly as dark as the standard Gulden Draak.
The nose is pretty interesting.. spicy/fruity... apricot and lite clove with a dusting of whiskey and vanilla.. complex but restrained.
Lighter whiskey than expected... much more of a BSPA than a BSDA... no dark malt/fruit elements really at all... peach and apricot are the biggest players with a dry vanilla/oak in the background... light clove phenol notes with an even lesser peppery bite.
Body is medium/light with a pretty big but expected carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
75cl bottle from SB. Drank it at mom and dads place.
Hazy amber with a bubbly beige/off white head that leaves a nice speckled lace. Pretty.
Sweet honey/marzipan and dried fruits like apricot, banana and oranges and mild whisky and spicy hops.
Taste is sweet with belgian yeast and marzipan, apricot, some apples and oranges plus some spicy hops in the finish with a gentle whisky note.
Full bodied with soft mushy carbonation and oily sticky texture.
Much smoother than expected. The whisky character is subtle perfectly balanced. Great beer!

Oranjebruin bier met stevig schuim. Gedronken van het vat in de Irisch Pub Bergen op Zoom. Smaak is krachtig sterk, licht zoet en kruidig waarbij de whiskey duidelijk terug komt. Erg goed bier.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Better than the normal Gulden Draak. I get a sweetness and slight yeasty and wood aroma from this hazy orangy red brew. The taste is sweet and slightly bitter followed by a nice woody flavor coupled with the warmth o the alcohol. It’s full bodied and very well done.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bought at #Systembolaget, Sweden at the release 2015-11-06. ABV: 10.5%
The beer pousr a little bit hazy, dark orange/amber with a one finger high, thin, white head.
Nose: The beer is still cold (about 5C/41F) and I think the nose will grow on higher temperature.
Orange, butter, caramel malt, citrus, herbs, Belgian yeast. pears, apples and candied sugar.
Taste: Caramel, brown sugar, spices, candy, apple, orange, whiskey barrel, wood, oak and some honey.
Mouth: Full body. Creamy. Complex texture with high sweetness and a dry aftertaste. Crisp and sharp carbonation.
Tis is a truly beatiful beer!

Draft @ Trollenkelder. Dark brown/amber colour, beige foam. Sweet nose of caramel, toffee, whisky. Malty with light bitter hoppy finish. Warming and a bit alcoholic. Ok.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours cloud orange amber with low off-white head. Aroma is slightly medicinal, with whisky, nuts, caramel, roasty notes, light citrus. Taste is rich, sweet and nutty with a mellow toffee finish and some peats coming through towards the end. Medium to rich bodied, creamy, with average carbonation. Nice enough, a bit too much carbonation and the nose a bit held back but apart from that a pleasant experience.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg @The Hanging Bat, Edinburgh (Ratings Backlog) Pours amber/orange a touch hazy/cloudy with a white head. Nose is great, bread yeast, peaches, toffee, honey and just a general fruity note. Taste is good, woody, some more honey so that does give a sweeter finish but not too sweet. Some slight whisky on the finish and you do get a slight alcohol burn.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good but not like I had hoped. Good strong Belgian yeast aroma with a faint woody sweetness and whiskey. Cloudy golden color with a fizzy head. Medium palate, which was lighter than expected. Flavors matched the aromas; however, the whiskey was not very pronounced. A little boozy.
