Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

POurs out with high carbonation. Thick head, diminishing until a small creamcoloured head remains. Complex taste, hints of coffee, cacao(dark chocolate), Bitter finish, longlasting. Despite the high percentage the alcohol is not dominant. NIce.

pours brown amber with a tan head. Aroma is very smooth caramel. Feels kind of thin but maybe this bottle is aged. Very smooth and creamy texture. I need to try again.

Pours dark gold, white head. Very sweet nose and aroma, strong caramel malts. Malt and sweetness predominate, a hint of alcohol. Solid.

Brown with a small off-white head. Rich yeasty aroma of dark dried fruits, malt and various spices. Fruity sweet flavour, caramel, figs and cherries with quite a bit of alcohol. Too much carbonation for my taste, almost hurts on the tongue.

Poured a dark ruby red with a small tan head. Aroma of malts, spices and some alcohol. Sweet flavors of dark fruits, especially cherries, as well as some yeast and a slight alcohol warmth. Full palate. This is the best beer that I have had from this brewery.

only thing gold about this pour is the lacey 2 finger head on it. smooth subtle aroma, nice dark cream soda color. taste is great and light with lots of character exploding with the belgien style effervescence, then fades quickly through a slightly tingley aftertaste to a crisp refreshing palate leaving you wanting more.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a deep, amber brown instead of a "Gulden." Sweet malt nose with not much head. Very sweet taste with a bit of alcohol. Overly sweet but a lot of flavor.

Pours semi transparent dark red/brown, dissapearing head leaving a little froth. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, sour and a fair bit of alcohol. Taste is fairly sweet, plenty of fruit, cherries, stawberries, lots of yeast. Finishes sweet and slightly hoppy, mild alcohol (very little considering the strength). Well balanced, Very enjoyable.
