COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

Bottle at home. Dark brown pour, orangey highlights. Big gushing head out of the bottle, but fades to almost nothing. Sweet caramel, some raisin and booze on the nose. A hint of hoppy fruit too. Thick, sweet palate, dark fruits, some oak, lots of toffee, lots of booze. Sticky sweet finish. Nice, though.

On Draft ... Clear deep reddish amber pour no head or carbonation ..... aroma of dark fruity yeast, berries and lightly roasted malts .... taste was a mix between dark fruity yeast, berries, toffee and light candi sugar, roasted malts .... mouthfeel was smooth and a little thick ... finishes dry roasted and malty ..... great and tasty brew flavors balance very well and the abv was hidden well

Pour is a dark brown color with a small tan head. Nose is of dark fruits and sugar. Taste is very much what he nose gives off, though very well balanced and not quite as sweet as it is lead on.

Bottle at Allt om Öl Festivalen in Eskilstuna. It poured a dark brown golden liquid with a small brown head. Smell and taste of dried fruit and lots of other flavours. Complex and interesting.

Bottle from Csak a jó sör. Poured ruby - dark brown, and an off-white, lacing, creamy foam. Dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, yeast and roasted malts in the nose. Very sweet taste, loaded with fark fruits such as plum and raising, soaked in caramel and thrown into the brew. Strong, but the taste of alcohol is well hidden. Dry, dark frutiy, roasty finish. No questiona bout this being an excellent beer.
