Heavy malt aroma of caramel, toffee, spice and light alcohol. Grape, peach and cherry all come through in the flavor - very fruity malt flavors. Well-hidden alcohol - I would have guessed 7% or so from the palate, but the warm feeling in my throat and stomach confirms the 10.5%. Medium body with a very slight alcoholic texture and average carbonation. Overall a really drinkable and warming beer. It didn’t blow me away, but was very enjoyable. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Dark yellow pour, very opaque. Light head. Sweet aroma, of Sweet Tarts. Very interesting and inventive. Light feel over the palate with a tingling sensation. Sweet flavors greet the drinker. No alcohol is tasted but is certainly felt. The sweet notes continue to linger after the finish. Wow this was a very good quad. Not over the top like some tend to drift towards, but this was solid through and through. yumyum (122), barrie, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Dark brown, low carbonation very "bready", a sweet maltiness reminescent of a belhaven wee heavy. Also notes of banana , caramel and plum. Alcohol is amazingly well hidden.
a very nice brew if you are inthe mood for a slightly sweet beer. BrewDad (2366), Olympia, Washington, USA
