PJClarke (609), London, Greater London, England Mar 1, 2009 A ruddy, pink-amber. Clear with a beautiful puffy cream coloured head.
Wholesome yeasty banana aromas with sweet citrus tanginess. In the mouth I get a lot of very sweet cherries and a little sour lemoniness. Finishes with a sweet, smooth toffee. Smooth and tight mouthfeel. Very tasty and complex though a tad on the sweet side for me. eManu (172), Brussels, Belgium Mar 1, 2009 Pours a dark brown to orange with a nice thick tan foamy head. Aroma is strong sweet alcohol and roasted malts. Flavors are strong and powerfull, sweet roasted malts and brown sugars and some dry fruits with a good garbonation. wow that was really nice beer with great flavors that stays longs in mouth. I want some more, the bottle is too small. aco2 (11), Florida, USA Feb 26, 2009 11.5 oz bottle. Poured a dark chocolate with a very small creamy head. Aroma of figs, brown sugar, and hops. Alcohol subdued for a 10.5%. Accents of cherries, bread, bleu cheese, and brown sugar. A magnificent beer, and a meal in itself. Thicker than a normal triple. Would probably very nicely compliment a piece of fresh bread and a nice salty piece of gorgonzola or stilton. pfriesen (33), Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada Feb 22, 2009 Bottle - strong raw sugar aroma, flavour of molasses, dried apples and prunes. Syrupy mouthfeel with no bitterness at all. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Feb 19, 2009 Tap at Gingerman. Aroma of prune, alcohol, candied sugar. Flavor has more of a well-rounded fruit presence with apple, white grape, green melon, light raisin, pear, in addition to a straight brown sugar note. Rather light bodied from what must be enormous amounts of the candi sugar. Used to love this one, but just ok for me now. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Feb 18, 2009 Updated: Mar 27, 2009Poured a deep copper/ruby color with a thick head. Aroma was dark fruit, caramel and malt. Flavor was almost like a port wine with some malt undertones. really heavy on the dark fruit influence here, plums, raisins. Very nice beer. suchen (81), , Pennsylvania, USA Feb 16, 2009 A cloudy copper-brown pour with a very thick, very long lasting off-white head. The aroma was very enticing with obvious yeasty and thick malty notes, along with very interesting sweet, almost apple-ish hints. The flavor was excellent. Very thick malty and yeasty and finishes with a kick in the mouth from the a.b.v. Great beer. kevd193213 (477), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA Feb 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Dark brownish amber pour with a nice thick foamy tan head. Aroma of bread, spices and malt. Taste dominated by caramel and Belgian yeast. Very smooth despite the higher alcohol content.
