Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

Bottle. Pours a dark clear maroon color with a light beige head. Smell is of red fruits, cherries, a bit of belgian yeast and caramel. Taste is fruity, gummy, yeasty, with some brown sugary and raisin notes quite prominent as well. Bright flavors, yet very sweet overall. Body is a bit watery for a strong beer like this and it has quite soft carbonation. Interesting beer, but it gets really sweet after even just 1/4 of the bottle.

This ale is so complex. Many flavors: malt, yeast, fruit, and it is sweet. Yummy nose. A truly delicious beer that is best if you take your time to explore it’s subtleties.

Poured beautifully into the glass an illuminating reddish copper colour with a big white head. Apple, ripe cherry (maybe maracshino, something sweet for sure) and brown sugar on the nose. Taste is super yummy as well. Soft raisiny notes, plum and black cherry on the palate. Really tastey brew overall.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very hazy orange with a small head. Smells of fermented fruit, alcohol, and yeast. Tastes of sickingly sweet fermented fruit, syrup, and brown sugar. Way too much for me. Not bad, but just too sweet.

Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a clear brownish-amber with a white ring. Big sweet aroma, of malt, caramel, brown sugar, and dark fruits. Rich sweet taste, of malt, citrus, dark fruits, and brown sugar. Lingering rich sweetness. Very tasty.

Oh God almost made my heart stop.Oh so syrupy ...Streams of fat malt juices..chewey maltiness..strange fruit esters ..Like mango and coconut and limes .I got that coco-cola vibe I get in dark lagers.Relentless malt, even if you’re a Malt-Head.Nice sipper though.
