UPDATED: APR 9, 2008 On tap at the Brick Store. Very dark brown pour with a large, fluffy white head that lasts. Malty nose with some dark fruit: figs, raisins, sugary sweet. Spicy, peppery, fruity flavor with a vinous alcohol presence. Excellent!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark malty aroma, light mustiness.Dark reddish brown with rich foamy head. Roasted malt, rasins, dates, light citrus, some caramel. I didn’t notice much in the way of alcoholic flavors. A bit dryish on the finish. Light smokiness. Farily even palate, not too thick not too thin. Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep reddish-brown with a nice sustaining tan head, unexpected look for a triple style belgian. One whiff of the nose though brings you back to the nice spiciness of triple ales. Spices, citrus, and alcohol mingle and burn in your nose. The mouthfeel is creamy with little carbonation felt despite the bubbling on the glass. The taste is spicy and earthy at the back of the tongue, a slight dry finish of alcohol but well masked for the high % abv. Very filling beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from The Bottle Stop in Bramhall. Hmm I’m getting nail varnish in the nose...dammit woman. My house is too small and I can hardly go and ask her to sit in the garden. So that’s all I can smell unfortunately. Strong, sweet, sugary. Not bad but there are better triples, nice for a change though.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ BrickStore Pub
Classic aroma of belgian ale. Pours brown/red and looks thick, the head is immense and creamy, in fact if you put your finger and scoop some out, it’s like whipped cream consistency. The taste is malty, biscuit, maybe some ’cream soda’ . Felt thinner than I expected... a fine belgian no doubt.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft. Reddish brown in color with a small tan head. Aroma was filled with malt and dark fruits. Taste was much of the same with a nice smooth aftertaste. Overall this was a very enjoyable beer that I will be having again and recommending to friends.
