1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with fluffy tan head. Aroma of alcohol and malt. Tastes vile, like gone-off maple syrup, with plenty of alcohol burn. To be fair, was in the fridge for six months, maybe a bad bottle. But I ain’t going to try it again.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2007 Comes in a cool white bottle. Pours brown with a big white head and a sweet aroma. The taste is strong and complex with a kick, but I was surprised how little I tasted the alcohol at 10.5%. A strong, flavorful beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pleasant light apple aroma. Alcohol overwhelms the flavor just a little bit in this beer. A bit of syrupy sweetness on the back of the throat.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark mahogany coloured beer with a white somewhat soapy head. Aroma of apple, maplesyrup, brown sugar, caramel. Sweet carameltaste. Hints of wood and fruit, like caramelcovered apples. (too) High level of carbonation. Turns alcoholic but not as much as expected from a 10.5% beer. Nice brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had this one in cellar forever, got it on one of my first trades. Aroma fruity, earthen and yeasty. Poured reddish brown with an off white head very foamy at first. Flavor was apple raisin and candi sugar. Palate was full and chewy. Overall very nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It was a deep, ruby color. The head was foamy, thick, and light tan. The aroma is tart and sweet with several types of fruit scents. Grape and a berry of some sort were distinguishable. It laces well. The palate is shocked at first with a very biting, sharp, and fizzy sensation. After the initial shock, I was able to being to taste the beer’s tart and very slight fruit character. The finish is warm, but a very light warmth at the roof of your mouth rather than the back of your throat.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The bottle looked cool enough for a try. Pours a nice dark reddish amber with a pretty, tan, creamy head. The aroma definitely carries traces of the alcohol, fruit notes, and an earthy aroma. Lets see how she tastes. Hmm, definitely alcohol, hmmm wine taste, it has the dry mature fruit, aged taste that reminds me of a wine. I tend to like the dry fruity belgians so this appeals to me. Not as much of the belgian yeasty taste, more of a crisp warm mouthfeel to it along with the finish.
