4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Amber brown with a fluffy white head. Aroma began with a fruity pear, moved on to deliver icing-sugar sweetness and ended with a musty leathery yeastiness. The taste was rich, dark-fruited, alcoholic and warming, with a good bitter ending. Itís like liquid Christmas cake. Utterly wonderful.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pleasant pastry-like (freshly baked brown sugar turnover) quality to the nose. Very dark hazy amber body with much carbonation at first. Thick, generous beige head leaves nice lacing. Taste is marvellously sweet. Sugarcane, barley malt and yeast overpower the hops. Alcohol bite is very present (at 10.5%, no kidding) leaves tingling sensation in your mouth. Smooth, sweet finish.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2006 Deep amber color with nice creamy head. Aroma is mellow with malts and citrus. Flavor is a bit sweet and fruity, medium complexity. A little bubbly for its color. Good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh. Pours copper brown iwth an off white head, spotty lacing. Very pronounced aroma of sugary dark fruit and alcohol. Fine carbonation bubbles. Flavor of brown sugar, raisens, and alcohol. Caramel comes out in the finish with a dry alcoholic bite. If like alcohol and sweetness, this beer is for you.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a rusty brown with thin, beige head. The aroma is pretty strong. Flavour is quite sweet and malty with some spices and a light hoppy finish. Alcoholís quite strong and prominent. Somewhat harsh aftertaste. Medium bodied. This is a little sweet for my liking and the alcohol could be much more subtle

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 fl oz bottle obtained at Florianís in Auburn as part of a variety 6-pack. Murky brown body with light tan head thatís a couple fingers thick. Smells yeasty, fruity (dates? plums?) and roasty. Tastes roasty, fruity, somewhat chocolatey maybe? Complex and unique certainly. The only dark tripel I know of, so Iím not sure what to compare it to. Rather pleasant and tasty. Good for anyone who like dubbels or maybe stouts.

Chesnut brown with a thick head. Malty aroma some alcohol as well, belgian yeast. The flavour follows suit with the aroma. Not a bad belgian strong ale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cool bottle. I like their commercial description, so Iíll go with that. Iíll add that the one chink is the carbonation, but its intensity doesnít diminish the true enjoyment you get when sipping this puppy. Besides I have always loved dragons....

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Crazy white but shaped like Duvel bottle. Pours a cloudy coffee brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. Smells like, well, a Belgian (orchard fruit, rotten malt), but with a bit of caramel. Tastes like a Belgian, again, with a bit of caramel. Doesnít really feel like a Belgian though, thinner and with more carbonation than usual. Aftertaste is like a Belgian too. Am I the only one that is getting tired of plain Jane Belgian beers. I mean they are all well made and good, but man, they are all really starting to taste the same to me. I think I need a Belgian break.
