3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark amber color with a medium tan head. Aroma has some earthy tones to it along with molasses, caramel, dark fruits, and a slight hint of alcohol. Flavor is sweet with the dark fruits and finishes off with spice and a nice alcohol warming that comes from nowhere. Very nice brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark reddish amber with a thick bubbly mocha head. Aroma of fruity esters: apples, plums, apricots. Vinous malt with notes of toffee, molasses, and candied fruit. Mouthfeel is heavy and syrupy with lush carbonation. Quite thick with plenty of alcohol, but this beer is a bit too sweet and simple.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From a caged cork 750ml. white plastic covered brown bottle with no bottled/freshness date.
Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy fresh apple cider brown with a pale tannish head that settled into a thin creamy lacing, good carbonation.
Had a orangey fruitiness and spicy alcohol nose with whiffs of sweet caramelized sugary maltiness.
A crisp, textured and carbonated smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability.
Sour orangey fruitiness and a caramelized candied maltiness, a spicy, peppery alcohol warmth, a subtle herbalness and a dry yeasty and malty finish with the spicy alcohol lingering in the palate.
A very good Belgian Strong Ale, one of my personal favorites, dangerously quaffable.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2006 0.75l bottle in Tolkien’s House, Zagreb, shared with Sasquatch911 :).
Well, the choice was this, Brugge Tripel and Leute Bok. I think we chose wisely. This poured a lovely dark burgundy red, nearly black with a medium sized tanish head that went away slowly leaving some lacing. Lovely fresh malty nose, raisins, dark fruits, some backgroundish alcohol. A very nice sweet and fruity Belgian style taste , raisins, dark malt, some roastiness and maybe weak hoppy bitterness. A tad yeasty and some alcohol can be felt, but not much. Cost a lot, but while not completely worth it, pretty close. The great company perhaps made it better. Still, a worthy no. 250.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
just amazing. Just became one of my favorite Belgians. Complex aroma. Superb flavor, without the acidic after taste that comes with some of the Triples and Quads. Great beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a relatively dark browne with some cloudiness and a small off-white colored head. Sweet aroma with hints of dried fruits and roasted malts. The taste is rich and relatively fullbodied with hints off caramel, dried plums and hops. The alcohol comes off a little too high in the finish.
