4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best beers I’ve ever had, so much flavor just perfect everything excellent I would highly recommend to anyone who likes real good beer. This has an excellent taste of many berries and chocolate plus the aftertaste does not taste of alcohol. Exceptional beer, try it yourself!!! Highly recommended.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Dark reddish brown colour. Offwhite, huge head with big bubbles in it and which diminishes to medium size quite quickly. In the aroma fruity notes stick out, like strawberries and cherries. Other than that, strong malty-sweet aroma. Tastes caramelly, malty and quite sweet. (maybe a tad too sweet) Strawberries, plums and candied cherries. One of the fruitiest Belgian strong ales I´ve had. Nice.

This is a nice beer. Pours a murky hazel brown with a large tan head. Aroma is deep with dark fruits and a touch of honey. Taste also has some spiciness and toffee tones to it. Very, very nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2006 Bottle. Deep brown color, nice brown head and nice lacings, fully lasting. Hops, fruity and nuts aroma. Taste is quite funky, nuts, wood, hickory, malt, very nice beer, i like this style of beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Reddish brown beer with a long lasting beige head. Best enjoyed from a round goblet style glass at about 12ºC. Considering the alcohol content, it is very smooth and easy to drink. This is due to the higher than usual sweetness with great balanced bitterness. Relatively full bodied with nice malt and fruit flavors, medium hop flavor and aroma. Comes in a white ceramic bottle with a golden dragon on it. Definitely worth a try if you like your ales dark and strong.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a brownish-red with tons of sediment and a small creamy head. Aroma picked up spicy hops, brandy, and some nutmeg. Medium-to-heavily bodied with flavors following the aroma. Alcohol was rather well hidden. Finish had some of the spicy hops along with a sweetness that I didn’t pick up in the taste. Nice warming effect going down. Decent brew, but it felt as though the balance was a little off.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted 04/06/2005. 750ml bottle from Regional’s, Wellington.
Dark red-brown, slighly muddy looking, with a light tan head. Bold aroma of brandy, sweet malt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavour is just as boisterous and is much of the same but with chocolate cake, almonds, raisins, wood and whisky. Ever so slightly cloying in the middle. There’s a spicy dryness at the finish but its not really bitter. Palate is left a little spicy and throat is certainly warmed. Beware, the alcohol content may be a bit high to chug this down looking for the "vitamins" it proclaims to be full off. A sipper.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had at Castro’s Lounge in T.O. March 2005. Quite dark, very sweet, almost cloying taste of malt on the palate, caramelly. Alcohol is very well hidden on the finish. Definitely a sipping beer.
