Commercial Description:
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

A best dark beer with balanced sweetness. Anyway, as dark beers go quite acoholic and and bitter finish.

Probably the best dark beer with balanced sweetness I’ve tasted so far. Anyway, as dark beers are not my cup of tea I can’t give it high rating.

Red-brown color with thin head. The aroma of normal level is mainly sweet, where caramel excels. The body is consistent, alcoholic and sweetish. The end is more bitterness.Looking at the other votes, I am very disappointed by this beer.

Poured a deep copper/ruby color with a thin head. The aroma was very enticing with obvious yeasty and thick malty notes, along with very interesting sweet prune and almost apple-ish hints. Taste dominated by caramel and Belgian yeast. Very smooth despite the higher alcohol content.

Bottle, 330 ml. Nice dark amber in color with beige head... that stays . Smells of caramel, fruits, spice and booze. To me this is like a Trappist... from start to finish has that kind of body and complexity. I would buy again without a second thought.

Bottle, 750ml. Pours dark mahogany, with head that diminishes without disappearing completely. Lacing too. Fruity aroma, with notes of sweet malts and alcohol. Round on the palate, more reminiscent of a Trappist quadrupel than a triple. Dried fruits suffused with caramel on the tongue, with a very pleasing mouthfeel. Very decent ale.
