jumpjet2k (137), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 1, 2009 Bottle in a trappist glass. For something "Gulden," it’s pretty dark - a very clear brown-amber. Nice head, too. Aroma of spice, nut, bread, and sweet fruit. Caramel toffee sweetness builds atop a strong malt background, accompanied by a bit of yeastiness. Finishes to alcohol and spice. This beer knows what it’s trying to do and does it well. Powerful, warming, and pleasantly sweet. I’m surprised I’ve never tried this one before. XtraStout (46), Alberta, Canada Oct 29, 2009 Bottle Beer Bistro.
Nice dark pour with a strong malty spicy aroma.
Definatly a heavy beer. I can really taste the alcohol in it. That is normally a minus for me but this time I think its a real throat warmer.
I’d drink it again. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bottle at Miami Valley Beer Festival. Deep, dark brown hue on this one. Quite the sugary beer, crystal or candy sugar? Big alcohol kick to this, too. Quite good. (#3706, 10/24/2009) Adenila (931), Denmark Oct 24, 2009 Clear medium brown with a fine brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet fruits and berries, alchohol and dust. Flavor is medium sweet with bitter berry notes, a little too much alchohol but overall very enjoying. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Oct 21, 2009 Had on tap at the Gingerman Fort Worth. Grapes, other dark fruit, and alcohol. Tastes of malts and is very heavy. Teege (71), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 20, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a dark but translucent amber. Raisins and prunes in the nose. Sweet with lots of dark malts, bready. I like it better than most golden tripels. Decent beer. trapez (767), Hilleroed, Denmark Oct 19, 2009 Bottle. MAlt and caramel in aroma. Brown colour with high light brown head. Sweet caramel flavour with alcohol. Nisse666 (319), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 18, 2009 Bottle at Tre Små Rum Göteborg, 2009-10-14
