Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

Pours dark brown with decent white head. Sweet flavour includes barley and brown sugar, and is rich and full of flavour. Lovely beer

Flaska cambrinus, brygge. Bärstensfärgad vätska. Doft av torkad frukt och bränt socker. Söt men ändå balanserad i smak. Lite torra och nötiga eftertoner. Eldig med mycket sirap och fikon. Lömsk

Butelka 0,33l, data przydatności 27.01.2017r.
Aromat - Owoce - maliny, porzeczki, do tego czekolada, lekka kawa, winność, szlachetny alkohol, trochę porto. Bardzo ładny aromat.
Wygląd - Barwa czerwona, lekka mgiełka. Piany z początku grubo pęcherzykowa, ale szybko opada do zera.
Smak - Owocowe - porzeczkowe, malinowe. Mocno winne, alkohol ukryty, ale odczuwalny, szlachetny. Dosyć wytrawne. Wysycenie średnie. Goryczka niska.

Ruby-brown. Moderate off-white head. Lacing with a large spot in the centre of surface. Nose of candy, dark fruit. Fine yeast. Medium body. Light to medium sweetness in flavour. Vinous, dry fruit. Low bitterness. Lovely

33 cl från Casino i Montpellier. Mycket god öl som har massor av smågodissmaker i sig. Lite mycket alkohol.

Poured from bottle to Trappist Glass. Part of a mixer pack purchased during Christmas, I have another one currently being cellared. Smells VERY sweet. Sugary smell is overpowering. Pours a medium brown colour with a thick tan head that lasts to the last drop. Taste is also VERY sweet, This is the sweetes belgian beer I have tried to date. Goes down smooth. Perfect amount of carbonation. Would never know this beer was 10.5% ABV. Overall I was very happy with this beer. Although it was a little too sweet, I would buy this brew again. MB The Beer Bear-on

Bottle. Lidl. Clear, very dark red. Thick, bubbly, beige head, that thins and lingers. Nose is big on the stone fruit. Dates. Plum. Some dried fig. Brown sugar. Some granary malts. Taste is sweet and sugary. Some stone fruit dryness. Foamy mouthfeel. Somehow manages to feel a bit watery. Thin, sweet finish.

Great beer. One of my favourites. A strong brew which is just a little too sweet to be really up there with the top
