3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 oobawa (549) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 17, 2011
One dark, bubbly brute. Looks pretty, hazy brown with a massive white head. Smells faintly of spice and clove, but mainly of alcohol. Hmmm. This beer might get fuzzy. First sip explodes with Belgian warmth and sweetness, eggnog-like in its voracity and thickness. The beer grows dry on the finish, though, champagne-like in its yeasty tartness, with a powerful heat as it fades. The abrupt shift between front and rear leaves me a little off-kilter; combine this lack of enthusiasm with the warm finish and Gulden Draak makes for a one-time fling. (2/27/09)
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 microakes (135) - CANADA - MAY 14, 2011
Smells like sweet springtime flowers, A burnt golden colour with white head. Very sweet caramel, with a mild wheaty finish, with a few hops along for the ride.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rougeau13 (1064) - Texas, USA - MAY 13, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2012 Deep mahogany colored with a fluffy, lasting off-white head that laces the whole glass. Aroma of caramel, toffee, earth, bread, grapes and alcohol. The taste is pretty sweet and yeasty with a moderate hop presence. Like a tripel with a lot of sweetening malt. Medium-full bodied with lively carbonation. Some alcohol is noticeable in the feel, though not really in the taste. Good stuff, perhaps a tad sweet, but still good stuff.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 gramity (520) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 13, 2011
Rich, hazy, dark, mahogany color with a nice tannish finger of head that retains well. Toasted biscuits and dark fruits in the aroma. Taste starts off with toasty caramel malts and some caramelized sugars and a touch of molasses, with yeasty biscuits and grainy, unsubdued alcohol following. Dark dried fruits in the background. Medium mouthfeel, and can be a bit syrupy, but overall nice and drinkable, though on the strong side.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hopper (751) - The Alamo, Texas, USA - MAY 12, 2011
11.2 oz. white painted bottle. I really like the bottle. An almost clear reddish brown beer with a big head in a Duvel tulip. Big separation between the bubbles. The aroma has yeast, somewhat fruity with some bready qualities. The taste has bready fruitcake, dates, figs and vey smooth considering the ABV. A solid beer.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rune (4667) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 12, 2011
330ml white coloured bottle at Waagstuk, shared with Finn. Filmy, beige layer atop of a dark brown, red-tinged body. Fine aroma of caramel malts and different kinds of dried fruits. Apricot, prunes and raisin can be detected in a comprehensive taste profile. Bitter fruit cake towards the ending. Alcohol warmth, full bodied (Antwerpen, 28.04.2011).

Bottle. Clear dark amber colour, large dark-tanned dissapating head. Sweet winey aroma w. notes of plums, blackberries, caramel and sirup, which gets more winey and malty in the taste. Very nice (but probably not in larger quantities ;-)
