COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

Nehézkesen mozog, igencsak testes, édeskés, ugyanakkor száraz is, erősen pezsgősen szénsavas, kiváló belga ale, ráadásul komoly alkoholtartalommal.

Pours nearly black below a light brown head. Nose is light toasty and chocolate with tones if fruity esters. Taste similarly in light chicolate character and heavy on Belgian esters and some phenolics. slightly warming and sweet at the start and finishes dry, especially for the abv. Light to medium light body. Good Belgian but ive had better dark Belgians.

330ml bottle. Deep, dark brown brew with lots of fluffy off-white head. Dark fruit and candi sugar aroma - flavor is perfectly sweet with some raisin with a touch of hops. Continues to become more complex as it warms and is dangerously drinkable. Just a delicious beer, I’ve had this on tap and in the bottle many times.

Pours clowdy red mahogany with a huge tanned head leaving nice lace. Aroma is sweet malty, candy caramel, fruity, fidhes, raisins and nutty. Crispy sweet mouthfeel. Fruity, malty, alcohol, fidges and hoppy tart flavor. Medium fruity and malty palate. Finishes tart bitter and sweet fruity. Very enjoyable.

Tried pouring this into a Duvel glass I’ve got and it’s very lively leaving a big head, nice brown colour, heavy malt taste, slightly sweet with an oily texture on the palate

Wow! I cannot give a perfect rating as I will continue my search but I highly doubt there is a better beer on this planet. Had on tap and it was a dark clear amber colour but out of a bottle it was same colour but slightly cloudy, same taste though. Aroma of toffee, malt, and amaretto. Taste of dark fruits, molasses, toffee and a marashino cherry finish. Aftertaste had a slight bitter finish just to add to the complexity of this beer. Hard to put this down as a sip begged for another and another and another and all of a sudden the beer was gone, which is sad because as this beer warms it even gets better with a new taste coming forward every sip. Holy crap is this a beer. No problem finishing off a 750 ml and not sharing but everyone should experience this masterpiece. Brilliant!!!!!

My favorite beer experience, dark forest chocolate and definite alcohol not a beginner’s beer. I hold this beer in the same regard to Lagavulin Islay Whisky you will never forget it. and will always have one.
